what's new *****cat??

oooooo...Well we babysat one of my moms cats while she was sunning herself in Mexico for a week.  and well we now have a new resident here. Her name is Phoenix, she is a sweet kitty but doesn't like to be picked up. I'm kinda glad we took her, mom's other cats weren't very nice to her. She's a real sweet kitty. Kids are very happy to have a new pet in the house. We'll see how happy they remain when it's time to change the kittybox.

.  Hopefully she'll be a little blessing to us.

Been a while..

WOW! It's been awhile since I've posted in here. The New Year has motivated me beyone belief. My homeschooling has kicked into high gear as has other motivation to keep me working around the home, with home things and with our business. But also working on me. I've been walking daily. We have been researching whole foods and orgainc eating and we have started eating a lot better. I've also found out a menu really does work!! I am so blessed by this, you really have no idea!! We've tried "raw" milk and we're loving it!! We get it once a week from a farm in PA. Lucky for us one of our friends works very close to the PA border and runs over to get the milk for us once a week!! It's wonderful. My energy level has been fantastic to which I owe all the Glory to God!!! I'm so thankful to have him working in my life. I've also set up a blog on homesteadblogger, I'm really starting to enjoy blogging. Baby needs me..try again later..

Mc Donalds..

Our trip to McDonalds wasn't suppose to be. According to my plans anyway, but we all that God has his own adgenda. We were heading swimming the other day at a place that our homeschool support group uses. It's about 30-40 mins from my home. Anyway..it was closed unbeknown to me. On the way back home the children begged to stop at McDonalds. This is a  real treat for us. We don't usually do this. I was chatting with my girlfriend on the cell phone. We pulled into Mickey D's and sat in the parking lot while I was chatting. Ashley my 11yo was up front with me. The boys were playing in the floor of the surburban while they waited for me to finish up. When a gentleman walked up to the garbage can I was parked in front of and strarted rifeling through the bags, then he would open the boxes. My darling sweet daughter was horrified. This is not something we see at all in our town. My daughter immediatly started to well up with tears. I hung up with my girlfriend. My daughter innocently asked me, "is he looking for food?" I think she knew the answer but was so unwilling to accept it. I said yes, and we then watched him move on to the next can. I started to search for some cash. I don't usually have cash on me at all. But we came up with $7.00. By now my boys at noticed that Ash was upset and mommy was on the way of becoming upset. They started to ask questions. I quickly got out and went to the gentleman to hand him the money. He had such blue eyes. He was wearing a warm coat and warm gloves too, to which I thanked God for because I would have been head to Kohls to buy him it if it was needed. When I handed him the money the thought popped into my head about how we never know when we see Jesus. I gently said to him, please go buy some lunch. he replied, " i wasn't looking for that but Thank You.".  I hopped back in the truck and immediatly lost it. My boys started asking questions. I explained how humble it must have been for our savior to be born in a manger among animals. We talked about how some people don't have a warm home, a good coat, good food to eat and so on. It was such a humbling expiernence for all of us. We then started for the inside of Mickey D's, when the gentleman came out. He smiled at me and I prayed a silent prayer for him. When we went to the counter to order our food, I asked the lady if he had bought food. She smiled at me and said "John, why yes he did. I knew when you walked in you were the one who gave him money" For 10 minutes in what was an empty McDonalds when I got there to a backed up one when I left we talked about Jesus! Loud and clear!! It was so amazing! The clerk went on to tell me how she's been witnessing to John, and how she gave him Pilgrams Progress to read. It was simply wonderful!! God is so amazing!! God is so good!! It had me singing:

God is good, All the time!!

He put the word of God in this heart of mine!

He is good, He is good , all the time!!!

Blessings

Carrie

Snowny Day..

Good Morning..

What a great snowy day here in NJ. I love waking up to the "peace" that a snow brings. Considering I still live in surburbia, that  means the snow plows haven't made their way through the development yet! :)

We got about 4 inches last night into this morning. My boys are already out playing in it. It's so beautiful!

More later, children calling...

Glorious Morning..

Imagine a peacefull slumber, nice and cozy under your down comforter your toasty warm and dreaming of nice things. Then suddenly but very faintly you hear a childs voice. "mommy" he says ever so sweetly.."mmoommyyy wake up something happened last night" "mommy, look out your window" My sweet, sweet 5 year old son is standing next to my bed and opening the curtains in my room to show me it snowed last night.

My children LOVE when it snows. So do I really! So I got out of bed and went to my son ran back to his room. I went in the room my two boys share and they were both laying in the same bed with the shades open in their room staring out at the white covered trees. I layed in the other bed and we had the nicest conversation, my 7 year old son and I have a secreat handshake we do, and his arm extended out to me for my hand, I knew what he was going to do, so I put my hand out and he squeezed my hand 3 times. I smiled and did the same back. It means "I love You".  We all then heard the baby talking, my boys went into the room and woke daddy with their exictement of Emma being awake and her seeing the first snow. Daddy came into the boys rooms, already knowing what the excitement was about, you have to pass a big picture window to get to the boys room but he went with the moment and sat on Matt's bed with Emma and shared in the excitement of our first snow! I came out into the "sun" room, if you will to blog this before I forgo the idea of God's Blessings upon on this morning. It's so gray here this morning but my tree looks wonderful all lite up and my candles are burning. I'm thanking God for such a precious morning! He so richly blesses me! Now off to feed the crew before church.

God's peace and grace be on to you!

Beautiful Fall Day...

God has truly blessed us here in NJ with a beautiful fall day. The temp. is 60* and windy. I've done a few loads of wash and hung them on the line. I love the smell of clothes dried on the line. The are calling for snow at the end of this week, so we're enjoying the warmth now. But..soo looking forward to a snow day.

We have pulled out all our christmas decorations from the attic, and slowly they've been getting put out. Christmas is our favorite holiday around here. We do lots of lights!! Very close to the Griswalds!

The children and I headed up to the mall early this morning. My son Jacob's best friend is moving to NC this week. He will miss her so much. So he wanted to get her earrings before she left. Such a sweet boy he is. He just turned 5, this November.  I'm still trying to figure out how to change the side bars here on the blog. I would love to make it pretty too! In time I suppose.

Thanksgiving frame of mind..

Well the children are asleep, so is dh for that matter and I'm trying to get this blogging thing going. More importantly, I'm trying to get my heart right for the Thanksgiving Celebration tomorrow.  We personally deal with alot of unsaved family. But...we choose to be the light to them. Sometimes it's a little draining.

However, I thank God for my family (extended) we may be small but we're always there for eachother. I'll be praying for their hearts. I pray so many of them will turn to JESUS!

I'm praying for John who can't be with us tomorrow, he's serving his time in Iraq. I thank God for our military and for the brave men that are there!

My children are excited about Thanksgiving. They love the fact that Daddy is home for the long weekend! :) So do I!!!

Reflection upon the past year is good. So many new things are happening to us at once, the upcoming year looks wonderful.

Thank You Jesus!!

Thanksgiving Preps..

Wow! The business of preparing for Thanksginving is something else. Especially when you have a baby who doesn't want to be put down!! :) I've had a fussy baby all day, but we did manage to get stuff done. We made gingerbread squares to take tomorrow to Grandma's. I'm also making a cranberry salad, pepperoni, cheese and tomato platter, celery stuffed with cream cheese with walnuts on top, and deviled eggs. My mom is making the turkey this year. I'm looking forward to getting together with what small family we have and enjoying our day.

Hello

Hello

I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but I'm looking foward to sharing my thoughts, dreams, ideas, and general random thoughts on being a homeschooling mom, a wife that God wants me to be and more. I'm not to computer savvy so it may take me a while to get going. I'm looking forward to sharing as well as meeting new friends and sisters in the Lord.

Blessings

Carrie
