Poor Ava! She had the worst night. I would know since she's parks her little carcass in the mattress right next to mine. Coughing and sputtering. Tossing and turning. I kept thinking she was coming down with some type of congestion. Upon further examination, I discovered the following (at 2am): Ava's mattress was soaked, her pillow was soaked and the room was freezing. I think she didn't want to wake up and launch a full-scale complaint, so that was the reason for all the coughing and sputtering. As I was taking care of linens, her diaper, adjusting the room temp, etc, Ava began to shiver uncontrollably. First, I wrapped her up and we went out into the living room and rocked in the recliner for awhile. She fell asleep on my chest. Then, I carefully carried my little bundle back to my room and put her in bed with me. Big mistake. At 3:30am she bolted upright, gave me about a 2 second warning and began to hurl all over me and my bed. "It don't get no better than this!"
I took Ava upstairs to clean her up, and my hunny got up and cleaned the bed. He even ran the laundry for me. Gold star. Major gold star. After the massive cleanup, Ava went back into her own bed and we put on a few minutes of "Little Bear" softly in the background. Thankfully, she went right back to sleep and woke up without a care in the world. I mean, WHAT was THAT??? Holy cow!
I'm just so glad she's feeling better today. I, on the other hand, could use some intravenous JAVA. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Later.
