Justin, Sardines and Saltines
A while back I wrote a blog about my buddy Justin and how we share a love of sardines in common.  http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/7757/544115/

While I visited Justin recently, he gave me the words to our theme song and I'll share them here... I dedicate them to the memories of my Dad eating his sardines and saltines for his Sunday night supper.

Sardines and Saltines

Sardines are the food of perfection

With vitamins, min’rals and more.

Not only nutritious, they’re also delicious-

Just bursting with flavor galore.

Sardines and saltines, Sardines and saltines,

The more that I eat ‘em the better they seem.

For breakfast and dinner and snacks in between,

Just give me sardines and saltines.

They fit in a backpack or pocket,

A fav’rite of all buccaneers.

And if they’re forgotten they never go rotten-

They’re good for at least thirty years.

They’re great when they’re sprinkled on ice cream;

With blueberry pie they’re a dream.

So slimy and greasy, they slide down real easy-

Sardines are the queen of cuisine.

Sardines and saltines, Sardines and saltines,

The more that I eat ‘em the better they seem.

For breakfast and dinner and snacks in between,

Just give me sardines and saltines.

For breakfast and dinner and snacks in between,

Their fins are fantastic, their skin is elastic,

their bones are real crunchy, they’re great in my lunchy,

their insides are gooey, the can is quite chewy!

Just give me sardines and saltines!  Sardines!
