Hi!!!!!!!!
I haven't done an entry in awhile, so here's one!
Mom says We'll go back to doing school, maybe next month.
Also, I'm writing a story! Here's Chapter one! (I'll post more if people ask for it)
"Remind me where we're going again?" Katie Qyins asked as she strolled the streets of Orlando Floridia with her best friend, Alison.
"I told you, We're running errands for my Mom." Alison Tyrich
answered. It was their day to go out as friends, and her Mother asked them to pick up a few things.
"This was supposed to be our day out, Alison!" Katie groaned. "I told you, ever since my dad lost his job, I've had to help out more often." Alison told her friend.
They walked for fifteen more minutes, in silence, and Katie swore she saw a tumbleweed roll past.
"Hey, look at this." Said Katie, breaking the silence and pointing to a sign across the street. "Pet Store." Alison read aloud. "Lets go look at the toys they have for sale!" Katie squealed. They waited for the go sign, then crossed quickly.
"Wow..." Katie was speechless. There were pet toys hanging from the ceiling fans, which was high enough that no one should get hit by it. Collars in bins hanging off the walls, a place for ordering custom tags, High Speed Internet, this pet store had it all!
"May i help you girls?" a young woman smiled at them. "No thank you, just looking." Alison replied, wishing she had said 'Yes, I'm looking for a pet to buy'.
"Look!" Katie dragged Alison over to the fish section. They made faces at the fish, until Katie's attention was drawn to the same woman who has talked to them earlier, letting children take turns petting the cats and dogs.
"Come on, Alison." Katie pulled Alison along with her in line until they were next. "Hello, would you like to pet one of the animals?" the woman asked them. Katie thought about it, then walked over to a yorkshire terrier. "Yes, this one, please." the woman opened the cage holding the dog inside. As soon as the dog saw it was open, it bounded out, onto Katie.
Katie shrieked and fell backwards, onto the tile floor "Alison!" she laughed. "The dog is licking...me!"
"Thats what dogs do, Katie!" Alison laughed softly. "Would you like to pet one of the animals?
Alison smiled. "Yes, please." "Which one would you like to pet?" Alison thought aboue it. There were so many to choose from!
German shepherds, tabby cats, monkeys, she just couldn't choose!
"Hey, Aly, pic-...pick that one!" Katie said between giggles, pointing to a cage holding a small, gray kitten.
"Alright." Alison answered. The woman opened the cage, and handed the small animal to Alison.
Alison smiled at kitten. She wondered how such a small thing could survive in the world she lives in.
"I wish i could buy him.." Alison said as she reluctantly handed the kitten back to the woman.
Alison and Katie exchanged glances, they knew what the other was thinking.
"If you'll excuse us for a minute..." Alison brought Katie to the opposite side of the room to talk privately. "How much money do you have with you?" Alison asked her friend. Katie silently added the money in her change purse up in her head. " "fifty dollars and....twenty six cents." "I saved up eighty dollars!" Alison exclaimed happily. "Maybe We'll have enough for those animals?" "I don't know.." Alison walked up to the woman again.
"May i ask how much that Kitten is?" "Oh..let me see..." she looked at the sign near the cats section. "Fifteen dollars for any kitten." she answered Alison. "I...would like to buy that gray kitten." she blurted out. "Well, we need you to fill out some forms, to make you its owner, so follow me." she gestured her into a room in the back of the store. While Alison was filling out forms, Katie was talking to a teenage boy, asking about the Yorkshire terrier. Alison came out, grinning, and gave Katie a high five on her way to get the kitten.
After about another hour of selecting food, toys, and supplies, they said thank you and goodbye, paid for their items and pets, and walked out the door, laughing, and waiting for Katie's Mother to come pick them up and take them home. They sat down on a bench next to the store and set their items under the bench. "Aly.." Katie began. "How do you think our Mom's will react to us all of the sudden buying pets?" Alison frowned. She hadn't thought of that. "I don't know, my Mom said i could always look for a pet and try to buy one..." she sighed. "But i don't think my Mom will like it that i bought a pet without telling her. "Yeah.."
They saw Katie's Mom drive up next to the sidewalk, and roll down her window. "Hey girls, ready to go home?" "Yeah, Mom." Katie climbed in the car next to Alison and put their supplies in the trunk, and the carrier cases next to them. "Did you buy a pet, Katie?" her Mother asked as she took the car out of park. "Uhm...Yeah..." she muttered. "And how much did the supplies, and animal cost?" "Aly shared her money with me." she blurted out. Her mother was taken by surpise. Her daughter almost never took money from friends! She nodded silently, and pulled into the driveway of their house.
Soon Alison was brought home, and her Mother was astonished that her daughter would just go off and buy a kitten. "I'll take care of him Mom! I promise." she said to her Mother. "What is his name?" even though she did not look interested in the least bit. "Tom." she looked at the kitten, nestled in her daughters lap. "He's going to be hungry." her Mother stood up from her Father's chair, and went to the Kitchen to prepare some warm milk. "I will take care of you, Tom." she petted her kitten softly, while she fell asleep to her Mother humming softly.
Tell me what you think of it!
