Amazing Grace 2 Homeschool

• Aug. 9, 2008 - Daily Thought

Are you having a good weekend? Have you started your homeschool for the year yet? Many have, some are still gearing up for it. I have not been online much as I have been extremely busy of late.  I wanted to post something that God has laid on my dh's heart. He has been sharing with a few friends and family members different verses and thoughts that the Lord has been giving him via a daily email.  The response has been very positive and it seems to be ministering to one special lady at just the right time in her life.  God is sooooo good and knows exactly what we need and when we need it in our lives.  So with my dh's  permission here is a daily thought.......

Isaiah 40: 28 - 31
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Have you ever watched an eagle fly?  They do not work very hard at it.  A few flaps of their wings to get going and then they ride the wind currents going higher and higher just floating with only an occasional flap of the wings.  This is what the Lord is telling us.  Just like the Eagle all we need do is take a step of faith and give ourselves a little push.  Then he picks us up and carries us on.  He will give us the strength to make it through, no matter the situation.

The lord wants us to step up and out, to trust in him and place our hope in him so he can show us his glory and carries us through.  When we grow tired he will be our strength.  He calls each one of us according to his purpose and where the Lord leads the Lord provides.  We may be tired we may be weary but if the Lord asks us to take a step out and help a brother or sister, to witness to the lost, to teach a class or serve a meal, he will provide.  He will provide us the skills required to do the job and he will provide the strength.  When Moses was sent to back to Egypt to liberate Israel he was 80 years old, then he spent another 40 years wandering in the wilderness.  We should do so well when we are 120 years old.  Obviously Moses did not do this in his own strength he was able to carry on only because the Lord was lifting him up and giving him the strength.  Now consider Samson, he was probably without exception the strongest man to ever live, yet once his hair was cut he was a weakling?  So it was not Samson's hair that made him strong?  Obviously not, for if that were the case my daughter would be as strong as Samson.  No it was God giving him his strength and working through him according to the Lords purpose.  But when Samson broke his covenant with the Lord he paid the price he lost his strength and was taken prisoner.  When he placed his hope once again in the Lord, the Lord renewed his strength and allowed him to do a mighty work as his last act.  It was not Samson, nor was it his hair, it was God that gave him the strength and that only according to Gods will and purpose in Samson's life.

When we are in the midst of the storm and feel overwhelmed we are called to put our HOPE and faith in him.  We have already discussed that he will give us his peace, but this scripture also promises that he will renew our strength.  When we are worn out from battling the storm he sweeps in and grants us Peace and he grants us Strength.  So when we are facing life's trials we are encouraged  to put our hope and faith in the Lord.  His word makes his promises clear, he WILL give us peace, he WILL give us strength, he WILL provide us our every need.

Lord we thank you for your strength and for carrying us when we can not go on.  We ask that you grant us the strength to complete the tasks that you have placed before us.  When the storm grows too strong for us, lift us up and give us the strength to carry through victorious.  We know that we can do nothing on our own, but through you all things are possible.  Through you our strength comes and is renewed and we thank you and give you the praise and glory.

In Jesus name we pray.
Amen

I just wanted you (and your dh) to know how much this blessed me. I'm definitely in the midst of the storm right now and was feeling quite hopeless. I've been reading this over and over. I've also been amazed at how many times I've come across these verses recently.

Thank you...
