My son has been asking me to start homeschooling sooner then I had intended.(Sept.!) Sooooo......we are taking the plunge and beginning our Adventures tommorow on Monday August 18th. I *think* I have everything ready to go.
I had to come up with a different red, white and blue snack then suggested in the MFW teachers manual. Ds does not like yogurt or blueberries. I ended up finding some red-white-blue popsicles called "Patriot Pops". They should do just fine.
Thank you to those who have emailed me or left comments regarding my last blog entry with my dh's "Daily Thought". God is so very Good!!! Several have asked, if it is possible to be added to his "Daily Thought" list that he sends out? Yes, it is . If you are interested, leave a comment and we can email one another privately to get you subscribed.
Time for another of dh's "Daily Thoughts"
- Matthew 6:25-34
- 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Fear takes on many forms, some are easy to recognize and some we live with everyday and do not even recognize them. Daily fears normally take the form of little worries and concerns. It is the little worries that are perhaps the most dangerous to a Christian who is trying to stand strong. These go unnoticed and make us unstable, eroding the firm foundation from under our feet. The lord encourages us to not worry about our life, not food not clothing not even where we will live. He knows that we have need of these things and will provide them according to his will for your life.
The pursuit of securing the little things of life, that mean nothing at the end of the day, steals our time and attention from our pursuit of the Lord. in verse 33 we are told to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well". Our focus is not to be on these little things, but on the Lord. We should spend time daily in the word reading and studying, we should spend time in prayer and worship. The motivation for our day should be how we can serve, worship or learn about the Lord and his ways, then all of these other things will be granted to us. Even the flowers in the field are dressed in amazing beautiful splendor and they come and go in just a few days. how much more so does your creator care for you over a flower, do you not think that he will give you the things in life you have need of?
Worry is the exact opposite of faith and will rob us of our Peace and Hope. When the concerns of daily life start to crush in remember where your focus should be. Remember to Seek First the Kingdom and His Righteousness.
Lord we come to you and thank you for taking care of us. We thank you for providing our every need day in and day out. We recognize you as the creator of the universe and trust that you will provide. Help us to remember to seek you when life's little worries start to slip in. You alone are worthy of our attention! Praise the Holy Lamb of God!!!
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen!
