Routines.
I have been thinking alot about my routine. I love them. I also like schedules. They keep me in line. But I have a problem with them because I am a working mother. No I don't work for any company, I work with my hubby. We are self-employed and that means he needs my help. One it is very hard to find honest, good help. Second we are trying to save money by doing what we can on our own. But this does make it diffuclt to have a schedule. I use to have a calender that at 6:00 I did this and at 7:00 I did that. I liked it. I kept things running rather smoothly. But the more I helped hubby the less I used my cal. and time. I tried doing the home management book binder thing that everyone is so fawned of but it didn't work. And I hate wasting paper. So this is what I have come up with. 1. I love my computer, and it is a laptop. Convertible! So I am able to take it with me. Think about investing in that one. I know it is a selfish one but it is nice. 2. I use the ical or whatever calendar system comes with yours. But my has a to do list which I can check off when I am and will delet it after a day. This is nice when it gets crowded and you don't have to take the extra time to clear it. I also have a event program to remind me of special days, b-days, anns. etc. this is also nice for bill reminders. I can also program calendars for differnt things. Example: Household chores, Menus, Bills, School etc. It also has diff. colors to go with the calendar. So when you look at the whole week you can see which cal goes for which. I can check which calendar to look at. Have fun with it. 3. One of the calendars is list as Household Chores. Each day there is a room that is to be cleanned for the week. Monday-kitchen, Tuesday-Bathroom etc. I have a list of things that need to be done so the children know what needs to be done without me there. 4. I typed up a list of chores that need to be done daily on the frig. I printed off the kids name and put them on magnets. There name is listed by the chore they are to do for the week. You know dishes, floors, pets etc. 5. I don't put a list of things I need to clean or do on a spectic day. I put things on the to do list and check it off when they get done. Remeber my days revole around working in the shop. So if hubby doesn't need me I will pick a task to do. 6. I do get up at 6:00 a.m. to say prayers and start my day. I start breakfast and dinner. We start work at about 8:30 to 9:00. At this time I assign duties to the children and say prayers with them. Now mind you I have decluttered, which was easy to do when we moved here 3 years ago, and things have place. My children are pretty well trained in chore responsiblity. No they are not perfect and need to be supervised but that is why we are the parents. Our children need guidance to live health productives lives. And last with Gods help my hubby is great. He makes sure he picks up after himself. He doesn't make things harder for me. He doesn't do much housework but the outside is his domain.
