By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. ~Proverbs 24:3-4

• Aug. 1, 2008 - Help with setting goals for our children

I have been considering what goals I should set for my children this year in home schooling.  I found these wonderful posts by Lori Lane on the  Homeschool Blogger Company Porch. She is posting under the Homeschooling Through High School topic.

They have been very helpful to me in understanding God's plan for my homeschool.  I think they are important enough that I will make these the top post.  I will add a link for each post until she completes the steps.

Step 1: Beginning with The End in Mind, Part 1

Step 2: Beginning with the End in Mind, Part 2

Step 3: Compare and Contrast

Step 4: Picturing and Journaling the End Result

Step 5: Rubber Meets the Road

Step 5: Continued

Conclusion: Lean Hard

I hope they benefit you too!

Here is another blog post that I found very helpful on how to Teaching Your Children to Walk With God.

Thanks for posting this! It must be a God thing, the timing that is! I am feeling very convicted about parenting my children and that includes education. Right now I am getting a very CLEAR picture of where *I* have failed in raising my girls. I am writing down all the verses and trying to translate that into concrete behavior / attitude / family goals and then educational goals.

CM has a bunch of really great stuff going. I got the traditional and digital kits. I dug out my really old copy of memory manager and installed it. After about 15 updates I am in business! I started importing all of my pictures in! Wow. This will take awhile. I did figure out what to get my Mom for her birthday. I will post the link on my blog when I get it finished.

It is so good to hear from you!!!

As you can tell from my Xanga we are really working on our individual gifts in learning so far this Month.

Its been busier than when we hit the books thats for sure!

I love the wedding pic & the pic of you two today. And the cat is wonderful! We just got a kitten. Our home is full of MEOWs!

Yes, with Mandarin becoming the standard language of China in the 50's, Peking became BeiJing. :-) I forget that people know it as Peking.
