Hi Fellow
Blubber Bloggers,
As you all know, I had planned to have a Walk Across America Challenge, and
with all that has been going on, just simply have not had time to complete my
plans for it, most importantly the graphics that would have made it fun to see
how far each time had progressed.
However---I just found a really cool website that is very similar to
what I had planned, and would make this really easy for us to do. It will even let us do it as teams so that we
can compete as I had originally planned.
Please
check out the site at http://www.4woman.gov/whw/woman/index.cfm
and let me know if you would like to be a part of this. I know that we are registering late, but we
can still see which team can go the furthest toward their goal! You do need to have a pedometer to do this
or a conversion chart if you dont have one. I havent looked yet, but I would
bet anything there is a chart on the web somewhere that would convert miles to
steps for those of you who dont want to purchase a pedometer. I bought one that is very accurate for $15 a
few weeks ago, so they arent terribly bad price wise.
If you are
interested in participating, please let me know asap, and well divide into
teams, get registered, and get walking!
This ends on July 7, so we still have a month that we can have fun with
this. I sure wish that I had found this
site sooner, and I wouldn't have had to try to reinvent the wheel!!!
Hugs to
all,
