Vintage Austrian Dress

                                   blog1119.jpg picture by wintercreek

This dress was created for my cousin who needed it for performing songs from The Sound of Music in her Drama Class Showcase.

The costume is made of cotton fabrics that have an Austrian look about them. The front laces up with a pretty tan colored ribbon and pink eyelets. Closes in the back with an invisible zipper…this dress is made to look like 2 garments, a blouse and an over dress, but I attached the two for ease of wearing. Plus the blouse always stays were it should, no need to re-tuck it in place. The skirt has an attached petticoat trimmed with lace.

The apron was made out of Austrian inspired striped cotton…and the ties are wide enough to accommodate making a pretty bow.

Interested in your own Austrian inspired costume? I can make this costume in lots of colors and fabric styles...., little girl sizes are for sale as well.  Please contact me for details.

Awwww WOW! How utterly cute and practical! I LOVE it. The colours are sweet too. :) Is that your cousin? Where did you take the first photo? Just on a hill? Beautiful!!!!

Can you put me on your HSB mailing list (settings) and make sure you send all your new posts to it? So I know when you post? Either that or we need to get you a feedburner (automatic email update)! :)

Oh Dear, Brielle, that is beautiful! I must say that this is my favorite of all the costumes you've made (of course excluding your Spanish Ball Gown). The apron and it's pretty bow look so lovely, and the pink is such a pretty shade. I would wear that dress and apron everyday if I could. Simply exquisite!

Blessings,
Miss Emily Rose

That is lovely! It is, oh just lovely! It looks like the perfect farm dress with just a hint of elegence. And the colors are so soft and plan and yet lovely at the same time! Well done!
How have you been lately? Having a good summer?
