Hi! It has been a long time since I blogged.....gee, a week maybe? I was so busy reading all the educational moment blogs that I forgot to blog myself! Did you read any of them? There are some great bloggers out there having so much fun :)

We had our end of the season potluck at the farm this weekend, and it was bittersweet for me. It's been a long haul, but an experience we won't soon forget. While we were there, I saw a butterfly in one of the greenhouses, trapped there. So I went in and took some photos and released it. Here it is on my hand:

Yesterday was my daughter's 10th birthday and we had a little picnic out in the Garden of the Gods for her. It was a perfect day and we were so blessed that the cold weather disappeared so we could have an outing with friends.

While we were there I saw this:

It was pretty scary! No snakes for me, I will stick with the butterflies~

Your pictures always amaze me!

I haven't seen a rattler in GOG's in a loooong time! Wow! that you all saw one. Looks like it was a good size.... nice for eatin'! LOL

I stumbled across your blog and I live near GOTG - and I've never seen a rattlesnake up close. And I'm glad too, I realize it is part of God's beautiful creation, but I'm content to study them by picture and/or video....

Glad you enjoyed my blog. I've been reading around homeschooblogger and am amazed (and feeling a little sheepish about my own musings) by all the amazing stuff people (like you) have out there - curriculum ideas (as well as curriculum they made), book reviews, political essays, etc. Very impressive!

We love where we live - isn't Colorado great?

Um yeah, I don't do snakes, no thank you!
But that butterfly, how beautiful! We don't get very many varieties of butterflies up here in Minnesota, but we do have fun trying to remember the difference between Monarchs and Viceroys, and spotting them during our summers.
Wow, I just can't get over that butterfly, the only ones I've ever seen like that have been mounted on a board at the science museum!

Just like the plants springing forth we are following the Son, soaking up the living water and pulling the weeds. We can't wait to see what will bloom THIS growing season!

Oh, and just for fun, I will tell you a little about me, since that is what this space is for. :)

I am a mother of four lovely kids who are perfectly human in every way. They are sinful, selfish, loving, happy, grumpy, excited, capable, frustratable, (I know, that isn't a word but sometimes I make up my own) and sometimes contrite, and just like their parents. But they are ours and we think they are all keepers!

We have homeschooled them all since birth with the trial and error method. I think they all have "made the grade" and they are now 16, 13, 11 and 9 years old.

We're not experts, except in the area of making mistakes and living to tell about them and hopefully learn from them! We hope you will find some encouragement here as you read about the seasons of our life as a homeschooling family.
