Most of us here at the Bananas get rolling slowly in the morning. Miss Dance is no exception, EXCEPT for her mouth. It engages non-stop first thing when she is awake. This morning Miss Language and I were trying to get her to think a bit before she spoke and apparently asking for logic blew her circuitboard. She said, "Where did you get all that IQ?"
Actually talking non-stop in the morning is an improvement from her infant days, when her mouth worked continuously every waking moment. She is the only baby I know who, night after night you put to bed, she would walk laps around the perimeter of her crib, babbling on the way, and then you would hear a PLOP and go in, yes, she had literally fallen asleep.
We have been watching old family videos and are enjoying the children being younger without the nuisance of things like diaper bags and temper tantrums to contend with. Yesterday we saw a cute one of Miss Dance getting her first lost tooth ready for the Tooth Fairy, and she was explaining to Devastatingly Handsome how she had to "get the bleedingness out" of her mouth while he was at work.
Glad you are having such a good time watching your videos! Wish I had a video camera recently when Hayley told me she was afraid to go downstairs to the basement because of a spider with a circle body and REALLY REALLY long legs. I told her it must be a daddy longlegger and that it would not hurt her. After a few moments she replied, "Mom, you don't really know for sure that it is the daddy, it could very well be the mommy!"
"We have been watching old family videos and are enjoying the children being younger without the nuisance of things like diaper bags and temper tantrums to contend with."
Aaah, so there is hope! So THIS is why I should keep digging the video camera out, even though I keep thinking, "Why would I want to remember THIS?" Because the memories won't have the same smells, or busyness, or hassle that the real thing has.
I can just picture (my version of, since I've never met her) your daughter plodding around the crib talking until she konked off. So funny! I have a nephew like this...isn't it amazing how they can have so much energy by draining it from us?
I just needed to tell you something is definitely wrong with your blog poll tally. There is NO WAY King Kong would beat the Incredible Hulk. At least, not the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno one that was on when I was a kid. The "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" one. I used to have nightmares about him (although I was in love with Bruce Banner).
I'm just saying. The wrong people are voting. Or, at least, the ones who are wrong are voting.
Thanks for sharing several funnies, especially the one about your daughter doing laps in her crib and then literally falling asleep!!! I not only chuckled when I read it, I feel sure it is one of those images that will lodge in my brain and make me laugh again later...while I am cleaning the playroom and schoolroom, which are SO not funny right now LOL.
