Knights Becoming and a Lady in Waiting

Tag? Why not...

12:20 PM, Aug. 14, 2006 .. Posted in Humor .. 1 comments .. Link

Kim (MSAcademy/ Homeschooling Adventures) did this open-ended tag on her blog.  I decided I was avoiding grammar.... er, taking lunch, yeah... so here are my responses.

1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.

"... amounts to transacting business."  How to Form a Non-Profit Corporation by Anthony Mancuso.  (It was between that and First Language Lessons for the Well-Trained Mind, but since I'm playing hookey... er, taking a break... from grammar, I avoided that one.)

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you touch?
That accursed First Language Lessons book (I'm starting to get paranoid here), the desk, and an all-in-one printer.

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Um... CSI?  I dunno.  We were playing a game and had the TV on to cover up any noise that might have alerted the kids to the fact that Mommy and Daddy were having fun without them.

4. Without looking, guess what time it is.

12:15pm

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
12:24pm.  Drat.  Now I have guilt issues about not having lunch ready yet. *laugh*

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Prince Dannyboy using a toy hippo to destroy the known universe, Prince Derryboy whining about the game he's playing, Prince Berryboy lecturing Prince Derryboy on how to play, "Cows" from Philadelphia Chickens by Sandra Boynton playing, Princess Moo gurgling as she makes a break for the kitchen through the gate that Prince Dannyboy destroyed (see the first part), and a truck of some sort going by outside.

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Around 9am when I took the compost out, turned the bin, dunked all my nasty little beetles in soapy water to preserve my endless supply of zucchini, and took a teensy break from my kids.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
    Kim's blog

9. What are you wearing?
The t-shirt we got from the wedding chapel we got married in (11 years old), my "yard work" shorts (4 years old and ratty), a watch, an ankle brace, and glasses (couldn't get my contacts in this morning).  Oh, and a wedding ring (sorry, honey!  I forget I'm wearing it) and a hair scrunchie.

10. Did you dream last night?
Yes.  I had several odd dreams, the oddest one having something to do with my children taking over the local public school and forcing me to attend.  I think.  I know it was very scary.

11. When did you last laugh?
Out loud?  Probably Friday night when we had company.  Internally I'm always laughing.

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Paint, two types of wallpaper (a bottom and a border between the bottom and the paint) that have been partially peeled off where the boys got to it, a calendar, a hand-drawn American flag (courtesy of Prince Berryboy), window shades, a calendar, the two missionary families we're praying for, a map of the world, a map of the US... you know what?  This is our schoolroom.  It would take all day to list all the stuff on the walls!

13. Seen anything weird lately?
Define weird.  I saw my children working together to clean up their toys without me saying a word, but I thnk that a stray comet passed overhead and briefly switched their personalities with those well-behaved kids down the street.

14. What do you think of this quiz?
I hardly know this quiz.  I like to reserve judgement until at least the second date.

15. What is the last film or video you saw?
Oh.  Hmm.  I think we watched The Recruit on TV the other night in between cleaning up after the pets and nursing and such.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?

An RV.  I would sell our home and buy an RV and give away/ sell most of our stuff.  That's the only way hubby would let me do it.  (This would be AFTER tithes, after giving $$ to family, after hiding it all from hubby... er, submissively encouraging my hubby to be a good steward of our gifts...).

17. Tell me something about you that I do not know.
I lettered in Shot Put in high school (even though I only did shot for three weeks).  I did NOT letter in running the half mile, which I did for three years. :P

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
One thing?  Ack.  I'm a melancholy/ choleric.  We want to change EVERYTHING.  Okay, seriously, to start I'd change how far our country has fallen from our Godly heritage.

 19. Do you like to dance?
When I am all by myself and there is no remote chance that someone is either watching or filming it for posterity, sure.  However, I have five left feet (buying shoes is a real chore), so I do not enjoy dancing in public.  Except The Macarena.  I unabashedly admit that I loved that dance-- because I could DO IT.

20. Comment to George Bush:
Thank you for the courage to stand up for your beliefs even before you ran for a second term.  Anyone can be brave when they have nothing to lose; you were courage even when you had the most powerful office in the country to lose.

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her besides names you’ve used?
Um... but we used that name.  I've never even thought of another name because DH told me his first daughter WOULD BE NAMED xxxx.  I guess for a future girl, I like Tatiana (nickname of Tana or Anya).  I love female Russian names.

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him besides names you’ve used?
Do you know how hard it is to come up with SIX boy names?  Okay, okay.  Ciaran was our next choice as it fits our theme (both Gaelic and ends in -an).

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
     In an instant.

24. What do you want God to say to you when you get to Heaven?
You used the gifts I gave you to My glory.

25. 5 people who must also do this quiz on THEIR blog (if they want to):

     1.  A person with a birthday close to mine (9/24/71)

     2.  A person with a family arrangement like mine (3 boys then one girl)

     3.  A person with three sisters (like me)

     4.  A person born in Arkansas

     5.  A person living in Illinois

If you fit any of those five, leave a comment so I can go read your answers? :)

Okay, okay.  Off to eat lunch and do that grammar before I run screaming from the book. ;)

Chelo

I'm not any of those 5. LOL. Which is fine because if you'd tagged me I'd be all "no way, you can't tell me what to do" LOL
I was going to tell you 3 things - but I can only remember 1. I (threw?) shot put in high school, too. For about 3 weeks. LOL. I wasn't good. I wasn't good at running, either. Wait, maybe it was Junior High. Because I remember Greg Brunt (he desn't read your blog, does he?) saying "you'd be really good if you'd just put your weight behind it." Can I blame all future weight issues on that moment?

oh, I remember - how do you pronounce Chelo? :-D
