Forgive me all of you blog friends, but we have been overly busy this fall. The leaves are gourgous here in south west Michigan and we have already experienced a snow day or two.
Football is in full swing and our youngest son, Ben is on a Jr. High team. He has a game tonight. He is also taking Saxaphone lessons.
RuthAnn is on a Jr. Pro.( like little league) girls basketball team which plays for just 4 weeks. Basically to learn the fundamentals. She is also taking Piano lessons.
Perry ( os) is finishing up his last semester of classes at Cornerstone University and then he student teaches in the spring.
Dear Hubby, Dwight is preparing for next weeks missions conference at church and is also finishing up a carpentry job before the foul weather hits around here. I have been busy with many things mostly school work with the kids, some sewing. Working on a quilt top for our room and finishing up 2 other quilts. One is a nephews and the other is to send to Mississippi for the huricane hit churches around Pas Christian.
Last week the ladies at church did our annual bear making for the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. WE made up 50 teddy bears to give to the children at the mission. Then we found out there are 36 more that need to be made so that all of the children being housed there can receive one at Christmas. This is our 5th year to make them. This is a lot of fun and RuthAnn loves to help stuff the bears and also helps watch the little ones for their mommies.
Well I need to get going for now. But May the Lord give you a beautiful autumn day and May you receive HIS blessing on your life.

I'm so excited to tell everyone about my newest projects. I am in the process of making 6 dresses in varying sizes from 6 months to 12 months.
Two are pink and white checked with a pastel floral pinafore to go over. They have matching panties and hats too. The one for sale is 6 months size.
Three are pink rosebud print with pink pinafores and matching panties and hats. one in each of the sizes, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. The 6 month and 9 month ones are for sale.
The 6th dress is blue and white checked with a white embroidered cloth pinnafore, panties and hat. This is for a great niece with the blue-est eyes I have ever seen and dark curly hair.
IF you would like to purchase one of these please let me know. I am estimatiing the cost at $27.50 for the whole outfit including the hat and an extra set of long-leggings. The pinafore and leggings could be worn with a onezie and it would make a really cute extra outfit out of this combination.
I also have the ability to make similar big sister outfits that would be just adorable. For two of these baby dresses there will be big sister outfits to match by the end of next week.
I will be downloading pictures in a couple of days as I am now waiting for a connecting cord for my computar from the digital camera.

I beseech ye therefore brethern by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God, and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God! Mom's have you ever become frustrated when shopping with your daughters lately?I have. 3 years ago it started when my daughter was in the older girl sizes. When we went shopping we first hit the big bargain stores, as that is what we could afford. I ended up writing a letter of complaint about the store ( Walmart ) claiming to be a family oriented store and having such immodest clothing for children to wear.
I had recently become convicted that I should be not wearing slacks myself as a matter of testimoney for My Lord and also because of modesty. My dh wanted me to keep available for Ruth Ann modest play clothes and not just put her in dresses or jumpers. The adjustment for me was quite easy, but for a very active little girls it was not. On any given day she can be found climbing trees, riding her bike, running a foot race with brother Ben or a sundry of other outside activities.
Summer came and the shopping experience was very discouraging..First thing we were hit with was the belly button shirts, then the very short, shorts for play and also the low cut pants and painted on jeans. Next we were confronted with the backless and see through shirts. I promptly went to a fabric store and bought fabric and this started our quest for modest girls clothing. It was partially a fashion change, but it was also an awakening of our senses as to what was available for little girls to wear.
I still have a very active girl, although at age nine she is going into larger sizes and starting to change physically. So, the quest is even greater. Thus I started making many different styles of dresses or skirts and tops, jumpers and matching pantaloons. She still wears pants to play outside, especially in cold weather, but they are getting harder and harder to find. The only way we have been able to purchase things in the last few years has been online through modest websights or in used stores.
Last week before she went to camp I did find a few almost knee length cullote/ shorts that were not tight and matching tops, but they are hard to find. RuthAnn is wearing girls 12s, but when I buy something I get 14s so they are not tight. Then she has to have a belt or they fall down off her hips.
A couple of weeks ago, a cousin went shopping with her young teen daughter and her comment was, why are all the clothes so immodest. There solution is to add a sleeveless top underneath tops or dresses to raise the necklines, but they are still allowing the tight jeans. I believe it won't be long and this will be a problem for them too, as they are struggling with being convicted about her clothing as she matures into a young women.
It is a very hard thing, to be of the world, but not in the world as we face our daily decisions of how to dress to serve our Lord. Thanksfully right now for boys the shorts are below the knees and a sleeveless shirt for sports is really a shirt with just the sleeves removed and hemmed. SO for us modesty in Boys is not as hard, but for girls it is a continuing problem and one we have to prayerfully take on each time we need another size for our daughters or a new outfit for our selves.

For the last year 3 years I have been making a lot of modest ladies and girls clothing for my family members. We are to the point of wanting to sell some of these items to others or take orders for others. I view this as a way to help supplement for homeschooling material cost and also to pay for sewing habit!( Ha Ha)
A few of my latest creations have included.Cherry print puff sleeve shift style dress for RuthAnn and cousin Cheyenne. They have matching pantaloons too. Ruffled sleeve top and matching straight skirt with ruffles at the bottom out of blue and pink daisy print for RuthAnn. Lady Bug jumpers for RuthAnn and I. Pink and white gingham jumper with matching pantaloons for RuthAnn. Everyday dresses with butterflies and all kinds of spring things for the two of us and matching lavendar floral jumpers. Plus a slip and pantaloons out of eyelet fabric, they are just adorable and also double as wonderful hot weather night clothes.
The latest projects are baby outfits. These are little girl baby dresses with matching pinafores, hats and panties or pantaloons. The fabric being used is a rosebud print pink on white seersucker and pink pinafores or pink and white gingham with floral pinafores.
I have 6 baby dresses being made at the moment in varying sizes of 3 months to 9 months. Next projects will be matching big sister outfits to match these.
Would any one out there be interested in some of my creations? I will be loading pictures of these in the next few days, and I have a price list available and also fabric samples.

July 2, 2006, Today was a typical Sunday as far as schedule goes. I still have Noah-age 7, and Cayley- age 2, MacDonald( 2 of my niece Catherine's children) to care for until Mommy comes home from Mayo Clinic. Our 2 younger Children Ben- age 12 and RuthAnn age 9 have just returned from a week at camp with Grandpa and Grandma Nightingale. They went to Word of Life campground in Schroon Lake , New York last week.
DH Dwight, preached this morning on the blessing of our forefathers both biblically and historically and the challenge to continue to live Godly lives in today's changing society. We need to be proud of our heritage here in America, but remember the blessing comes only when as a nation and as a church we follow the Lord in our daily lives. He ended with a call to serve the Lord each and every day, whether here or abroad.
Perry - age 21, our oldest son is helping to lead a group from Ada Bible Church on a teen missions outreach. They are going to the Niagara Falls area. I am unsure of their outreach plans, but he was excited to have the oppertunity to share as a counselor for the week.
WE had a ham and cheesy potatoes dinner today with green beans, corn, and cantaloupe. The cantaloupe was soo good. I love fresh veggies and fruit in the summer. After dinner dh and I layed down for a nap along with Cayley. She was worn out and so were we. It has been a long week and I will admit, that I am not used to 2 year olds either.
Sunday night service was low in attendance, which is typical for a holiday weekend. WE had an old fashioned hymn sing with favorites from the congregation and sharing from the church family of blessings. Dh shared a devotional about a battle in the old testament when Johnathon King Sauls son saw the challenge of defeating enemy before him and went forth even against great odds and the Lord won the battle of Michmash. He delivered this message more as a children's devotional and all eyes were glewed to him as he acted out the story and the victory the Lord gave Johnathon.
We came home and had a small snack at home and I discovered we were out of Milk, so RuthAnn and I went to Meijers gas station and picked up some milk. I bought her a McDonald's ice cream cone and we shared an Ice Tea on the way home. She is really growing up and I enjoy my time with her. When we came home Dwight had the other kids heading for bed and RuthAnn came in an went to bed too. We are all still quite tired from the week and a busy Sunday.
Pray that you had a blessed day and were challenged to Serve the Lord today in your world!.
