Support for Grand Junction homeschoolers comes from mainly two groups. You can visit these groups at http://www.freewebs.com/gjhomeschool/. They are both Christian based, one accepting non-Christian members also. Over here our favorite museums are the Museum of Western Colorado, Dinosaur Valley, Moon Farm, Crossroads Living History Farm, Math and Science Center. Our favorite field trip is the beautiful camping in the mountains that surround us. The Cimarron, near Montrose, is a must see!! Since we bought a tent trailer, (under $3000) we have had so much fun camping. Makes camping much easier.

This group has been around since before the law was officially in place. At one time, it was the largest group but now we are blessed to have many groups in place to meet the needs of many different types of families! We still do "Newcomer's Receptions" each month, along with once a year testing and also graduation. We recently have started a "Mom-Time" where we listen to a conference tape together over treats. The Peterson Homeschool Group is comprised of active, reserve, and retired military members and their families. We are located on Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. Our goal is to provide a supportive atmosphere for our homeschool families and educational opportunities for our children. We have monthly meetings, field trips, swimming and bowling.
