Satirical Silly- Ebay Takes the Moral High Ground!
My partner Dena, just posted a new auction site that cropped up in light of Ebay's new Teacher's Edition Book Ban. Head on over to her blog and check it out!
I've been reading a lot about this new policy on Ebay. Apparently, they really are taking action against these "Teacher Edition Violators". For Ebay to take such an "ethical stand" even though there are no laws prohibiting teachers editions to be sold to the general public is
baffling when they make money (maybe millions) off their "mature
audience" section. If they want to start banning books, the porn
auctions would be a much better place to start!

 Awe...Spring!!
The fresh, clean air, the flowers, the birds....the thongs???
 I have a great invention idea I think many would find useful in today's Hang-It-All-Out Culture. Remember those "Special X-Ray vision"  glasses they use to advertise in the backs of comic books? Well, my glasses would be like that....ONLY OPPOSITE!
Instead of being able to see through clothing, my special glasses would
PUT CLOTHING ON, where it should be in the first place, hiding flesh
and fat , that was never meant to be exposed publicly in the first
place. I am so baffled by this latest body-baring phenomenon that seems to be epidemic in our culture. No
place is safe these days, not the library, grocery store....
everywhere, we are visually forced fed bare bellies and
backsides! This epidemic seems to be
widespread regardless of weight, stretch marks and even weather
conditions (I have seen this in the coldest of conditions!). When
I was a teenager, we did what we could to hide those
"unflattering areas". Maybe I'm just an old fogy but I just don't get this latest trend!?!?!
So, here is my Satirical Silly response to this fashion trend.
If I were brave (which I have repeatedly said that I
am not!), I would sport this t-shirt whenever I go out in public.
Oh, and I would also make my pre-adolescent son wear it as well.

Satirical Silly - School Daze!
Here
is my stab at a satirical cartoon...only mine is a photo. As you
probably noticed from my blog, I love to create graphics, Adobe
Photoshop is my friend! I
often drive by the High School when the kids are getting
out. Usually we see the array of belly baring girls, body piercing
and lots of smoking going on. Well, today we got a real treat...a bust
by Juvey (my cool word for Juvenile Corrections). I superimposed my
Picketing in to make a point...I'm really not that brave to actually
stand there with a picket sign! Oh, and while I was at my graphic
wonders, I shed a few pounds off my inner thighs! In real life there is
not much space above the knees, although I am working hard to change
that (see post on glass beads/weight loss). Hey, if the super models can do, why can't I?
When
we were posing for this picture, my very intelligent children with
great critical thinking skills kept saying, "why are we doing this, why
are we holding sticks in the air???" I said, "it's too hard to explain,
just hold up those broom handles!"...just one of mommy's hair brained
ideas again..
I have a few more of these Satirical Sillies up my sleeve, so check back soon!
