So, we're a few weeks into the new year, and my prayer life has not been what I'd anticipated.  Why does life seem to interfere so much with that?  I feel as if lately I've been getting hit hard from the enemy with one thing or another in effort to discourage me... and unfortunately... I've certainly had some "not-so-shiny" moments over the past couple of weeks.

In effort to not give in to this "warfare" however, I'm opening a new category in the BOOK TALK forum that will be ongoing for those who wish to participate.  We will be going through some of the "Power of Prayer" books by Stormie Omartian.  As I said, these forums will remain open for discussion and serve as a kind of "accountability" group.  I've fallen out of habit, and my prayer life for myself, my husband, and my children are being affected dramatically because of it.  I need to make this a priority and habit once again (as I know that prayer changes things).

So... if you're someone who has also found herself in a "less than impressive" prayer life right now, I invite you to join the BOOK TALK forum and get back on track for the new year!  To give you time to order your book, we'll be beginning Sunday, January 29th.  There are several books, and you can do one or all, whatever you choose.  (There are study guides as well, but they divide the books into weeks, and therefore take much longer - 30 weeks - and since I want to be praying for a few of these things (wife and parent prayer books) I want to take more of a daily approach.  I will however, be asking some of the questions from the study guides for us to discuss if you'd like.)

The following books will be posted on BOOK TALK sometime during this week:

• The Power of A Praying Woman
• The Power of A Praying Wife
• The Power of A Praying Parent (Updated and Expanded Edition)
• The Prayer That Changes Everything: The Hidden Power of Praising God  (This book won't begin until sometime in March, as it's unavailable from CBD until the end of February.)

There are also study guides available for a few of these books, as well as prayer books if you're interested, but you really only "need" the books themselves and a blank journal to keep other specific prayer requests or your "prayer journey" in.
