In the midst of all the choas and trials in my life right now, the Lord has reminded me that life is so fragile... and how blessed I am at this very moment. I just found out that
Missey, a fellow Homeschoolblogger, passed away during a C-section, leaving a husband, 4 children and their new baby girl.
I cannot imagine the grief this family must be experiencing right now, as I sit here seven months pregnant listening to the on-going chatter and laughter of my own precious gifts. I completely broke down when I read this:
Yesterday Missey went in to get her stress test that she's been getting every 2 weeks. The test showed that Missey was loosing amniotic fluid and that she had lost enough of it for it to be alarming. That's when they decided to go ahead and take the baby.
After they lifted the baby from her body, some of the amniotic fluid got into her blood stream and caused a blood clot, which is what caused her death. She never came out of surgery. Her mil said that this only Happens 1 in 200,000.
She said that the girls are holding up OK. She said that they all slept, no clung, together in their bed last night. The oldest got up at one point and asked if little Nathan could also sleep with them, so they moved him into the bed with the 3 girls. She said that Tom is just in a daze. He has gone to the hospital this morning to be able to feed the baby.
Tom and Missey had chosen a name for the baby, but after Missey passed on they decided to name the baby Melissa Kate.I couldn't help but break down when I went to Missey's blog and read some of her previous posts since joining HSB:
There has been a fund setup for the family (she had no insurance) and an address to send cards and notes of encouragement to as well (if you have children, this might be a wonderful opportunity for them to encourage these children). All this information is found on a
wonderful tribute HSB set up.
Pattycake has also posted Missey's obituary on her blog, as well as the song,
I Can Only Imagine... reminding us that she is with our Father in Heaven.
Please keep Missey's husband, children and newborn (as well as family and friends) in your prayers for strength and peace.
In Him,
Amy
•Friday, March 3, 2006 - prayers for Emily, Candace and Missey's family
I too, cannot believe that Missey is gone~I am on the BasicallyBeechick group and although I am new there, I have been to Missey's blog many times...she posted the very day she passed away..I read your requests to pray for Candace and Emily on my blog and need to update my blog soon, too..I have prayed for both of them and will continue to do so and am lifting up Missey's family in prayer.
What a legacy she leaves behind..I pray her children will know how much she loved them and that memories of her will carry them through..So sweet that her baby girl is named after her..
Praying,
Lynne
