Dec. 30, 2005 - I'm moving to TEXAS!

Big news! My husband, Bill, and I have agreed to move to Texas to help start a church in the town of Frisco under Pastor Blaine Bartel. We will be moving to McKinney, Texas, as soon as we find a home there and settle things here Oklahoma. We're both very excited about getting this opportunity to help start Northstar Church. It's a step of faith - no salary, no home!

This will be a big change for us. It's hard to leave Oklahoma where our friends and family are; but we feel this is what God wants us to do. If you think of us, please add us to your prayer list and agree with us for the following:

1. That we sell a piece of property we own as soon as possible in order to help us buy a house in Texas rather than having to rent a small apt
2. That we find just the right home for us there
3. That my husband finds a good job there quickly!
4. That we find good tenants for our house here in Oklahoma
5. That I won't cry too much when I leave!

As far as my blogs, I will keep them going as much as possible for now. Later, when I get settled, I will probably start a Texas blog, too! For the next few months, my output will definitely be down, but I plan on continuing where I left off as soon as I get settled.

Born and raised in Texas, I'm a bit prejudiced.

We are living away from Texas for the first time in our lives while I attend seminary in Idaho. We hope to move back and pastor a church. Technically, we don't have a salary either. God has blessed us with our own businesses while I'm in seminary and, more than likely, when I begin pastoring.

Feb. 4, 2006 - church and home school

My name is Rebecca Felty. My son Sean Roadhouse plays for the Texas Tornado Hockey team. He lives in Frisco. He was wondering where North Star church is located. In middle school he went to oneighty and he remembers Blaine. Also he has several of the little black books written by Blaine. Maybe Blaine can minister to that team and reach those kids. They are a national champion Jr A hockey team.

Also, Last summer when Sean came home he took some classes at Christrian Heritage Home School. The school used the home school curiculum. Judy the director monitored the student's progress and I was impressed with how well Sean did there. I was wondering if you know of place like this, there in the Frisco area. I think the travel required by the team players make it hard for them to excel in school. Sean really liked the way that the material was presented. He learned alot and did very well.

My son lives in McKinney, Texas and is the head wrestling coach for McKinney North. I go to Church on the Move and was excited to hear about NorthStar. I was wondering if you could email him and invite him to church. He attends First Baptist Church in McKinney but I would really like him to experience NorthStar. He loves COTM.
