Jan. 1, 2006 - What Have I Gotten Myself In to?

Yesterday, my dh and I decided to pull everything out of the attic as the first step to moving. What a day! We had stuff up there that we haven't seen for over 15 years! Box after box of dusty, dirty stuff most of which should have been thrown away years ago!

Then, in the middle of dh throwing the stuff down from the attic to me in the garage, he stepped on a piece of flooring that broke and came tumbling through the ceiling! I'm so thankful to God that he was able to catch himself on a ceiling joist. He landed with one leg hanging down into the garage! He's fine - only a little bruised.

We found boxes and boxes of old receipts, medical records, and bank records from the 80s & early 90s. I discovered that our social security info is printed on all those old checks, bank statements, and medical records. Unfortunately, there is a burn ban in OK so I'm having to shred these piece by piece. It will take a while!

Needless to say, we didn't get too far. Now the garage is packed with stuff and we can't get a garage in there. What I have to look forward to! Thank God I'm not homeschooling!

I always love accumulating STUFF-- until I have to move. Then I despise all of it! It's amazing how what was once a treasure is now fit only for the trash heap when the prospect of packing and moving it is upon you! :-) So glad DH wasn't hurt seriously. How scary!
