Mar. 8, 2006 - Finally! Baby Goats!
Note: This was posted March 8, of 2006, and is not new, however, the baby goats were new when this was written, and the post is about them being new.
We have had quite a day. At 4:00am this morning, Mommy came in and woke Bluejane and I up saying that she thought that Ebony, one of our goats, was in labor. So all three of us trooped out there with sleeping bags, and hot cocoa and tea to keep ourselves warm.
Sitting there for several hours in the middle of the night, made us very tired(imagine!). Eventually, Bluejane had to go in and go to bed. Mommy and I curled up on the milk stand, and stayed there for another couple of hours.
Daddy came and went before he left for work, and we were still sitting there, hugging a cat attempting to keep warm.
We went through the day up until around 12:00, when Ebony began having contractions, more and more frequently.
Finally, we were able to watch the actual birth take place, after all of our patient(and not so patient)waiting.
Our family was delighted to find that we had twin bucks(not delighted exactly that they were bucks, just that we had baby goats at all)! Here is a picture of Andy Taylor and Barney Fife.
Andy Talor is the one on the left, and Barney Fife is the one one the right.
Aren't they cute?! We are hoping for mostly girls out of our other two pregnent does. Don't worry, I'll give you pictures when everyone else is born.

HI! I haven't been by to visit in a while, but your blog looks great! I love what you did with it! And what cute baby goaties you have! They are adorable, and well worth the wait you had!
