A Peculiar People

Aug. 25, 2008 - First Day of School

Today was the first day of our new school year.  I think it went really well.  We had the "major" stuff finished before lunchtime.  We would have had plenty of time for history and science, except I had a last minute Dr. appt come up. ( I had to go in and receive a biopsy result.  We all know it's not good news when they bring you in.)

The kids worked hard and I think they had a good day.  Hannah and Joel used Math U See for the first time today, and I think they are going to like it.  We decided to review some basic facts with them and when they saw how easy today was going to be the complaining stopped.  Now I hope this continues and they get up to speed quickly.  Even Jacob sat in on the lessons and completed a worksheet.  It would be great if he'd just pick it up along with them!

So, I would say our first day was a success.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Yay! It sounds like you're off to a good start! We still have another week left before we get started, but we usually start out slowly with reviews and easy stuff. That kind of helps to get back into the swing of things before we go full force.
