Aug. 29, 2008 - Summer Book Blast

The kids all enjoy the Clubhouse magazines from Focus on the Family.  Jackie has a subscription to ClubHouse, and in the June issue they promoted a Summer Book Blast!  The mission was to read 2,500 pages between June 1 and August 31.  Jackie decided she wanted to participate and she has been happily reading away all summer.  We sat down today to tally up her reading and this is the list she will be sending in to Focus on the Family.

I do believe I have an avid reader on my hands.

It makes me very happy to see kids reading. That's how I always spent my summers. Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr are wonderful magazines. One of my stories was in the June issue of Clubhouse Jr.

Don't you just *love* it when they take to reading like a duck to water?! I have two avid readers myself, and couldn't be happier!! I'm so happy for you and your daughter! :)

We love Emily Windsnap in our house! Not only did my granddaughters read them, So did I! Hee hee! She not only read a lot, she read well. What a great list of classics!

That is a great list of books she read!
Wow, i am surprised at how the pages added up.
My guys like to read a lot, too. I've never kept track of the number of pages, though. We might have to do that and see how many they do in a month.

Oh, I didn't know you got Clubhouse Jr, too! I thought it was just Clubhouse. Tell your daughter thanks for looking it up! I loved the way they illustrated the story. I wish I knew who the artist is!
