Oh my gosh!!!!
I just re-read that Navy article from my last blog. This guy is scary smart.
Ok, the 99 ASVAB score isn't what got me (I scored a 99 on it also), but this guy went thru a 26 week nuclear power school (read in nuclear physics, heat transfer and fluid flow, high level calculus) and recieved a 3.95 GPA. This school is Monday thru Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm with an additional mandatory 35 hours per week study hall that must be completed outside regular school hours. (read 40 hours per week classroom time and 5 HOURS PER DAY, EVERY DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, FOR 6 MONTHS additional study hall time) Since the information is Classified, you couldn't take it home to study. I went thru this training and recieved a 3.42 GPA which was 6th in my class. The GPA system doesn't work the same as it does in regular school. A 4.0 GPA is not recieving an "A" in all your classes. A 4.0 GPA in Nuclear Power School is PERFECTION!!!! No test questions answered incorrectly for 6 months.
And people think that enlisting in the military is a second choice for people who can't make it in college. I beg to disagree. Well done, Robert Kilgore. Comments |
