~How Do You Spell Summer Fun?~
In our house one way is:
P*L*A*Y*D*O*U*G*H
Last week on Thursday, it was so hot! The heat index went over 100 degrees.
So I mixed up a batch of playdough for the girls. I love the homemade variety. When the girls are little, it doesn't hurt them if they eat it. Now, we have the dog, who loves to eat anything off the ground. Here is a link for homemade playdough recipes: AppleSauceKids.
Pictures of the playdough fun!

Another way we spell summer fun.
S*W*I*M*M*I*N*G

And lastly there is nothing like
B*A*S*E*B*A*L*L
for summer fun.
We attend a game with our local AA team, the Iowa Cubs. For all of you Chicago Cubs fans, one of the current pitchers, Kerry Woods, pitched for the Iowa Cubs before being called up.
The girls enjoy the foods and entertainment, more than the baseball. I'm always saying, "shh, watch the pitch". They have done a great job at the I-Cubs to provide family friendly, fun entertainment. The food prices are outrageous though. Thankfully the great tickets are free from my work. The girls got these bobble head dolls free.

Monday, July 14, 2008 - just a warning

Hi, I just found your blog and liked your post about summer fun, in fact it reminds me how much fun my children do have with playdough and I should get it out.
I wanted to warn you about one thing though, you mentioned a dog to eat your playdough crumbs it sounded lilke. I have a close friend who last summer made playdough for her children (it had lots of salt in it like most recipes do) and her dog got into the playdough and ate some of it and he got very sick. In fact so sick he almost died and they spent $1200 to save him- the vet told her it was because of the salt amount in the playdough.
Thought you may want to know- have fun this summer.

Good Morning! It's Monday and I'm busy cleaning out closets and moving furniture around. School is around the corner and I need a new look around here. Busy, busy, busy. Looks like you are having a fun summer. Enjoy!

Hi Linda,
I can tell you already Voddie Baucham is fabulous. We had heard him on CD from Vision Forum, but he was the keynote at our conference this year and he sure can get a person's attention. Strong in the faith and not afraid to show it! You are in for a treat.
Blessings,
Christine

Hi Linda,
It looks like there is lots of summer fun going on at your house. I love the proud expression on your daughter's face with her playdough creation.
I have a question about the RSS feed though. I have turned my feed on "Yes" months ago, but no matter what I do no one can get to it. What should I do to turn it on?
Plus, I want to get all my friends blogs in Rss feeds, but I don't know what I am doing. How do I go about it?
I think I am technilogically challenged. : (
Hope you and your family are having a great day!

I used to think I hated playdough... then Beverly and David came along. It is one of the few things I can have them do that they can do for stretches of time without having me teach them how to play. Yeah playdough!
We will probably be getting it out today. It is raining already and the rain is expected to continue for the next several days ~ at least it isn't 90 and humid. (We aren't using our AC this year. The doors are always open.)

Saturday, August 2, 2008 - Love Playdough!

I love playdough time. It is one sure way to get everyone occupied and quiet while I make dinner! Thanks for the reminder, I need to go pick up some new dough, or make some. I haven't stopped by in a while, but I am out tonight commenting at friends and begging a little. Please stop by and help me name my book! I am trying to find the perfect title before my Kick Off.
