~Hymns for a Kid's Heart~Book Review

“My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.”
— Psalm 71:8 (ESV)

In this book, Joni Eareckson Tada and Bobbie Wolgemuth collaborate to help you teach twelve classic hymns to the children you love. With richly orchestrated music, true stories, prayers, and Scripture, Hymns for a Kid’s Heart will feed your child’s soul.

KIDS WILL:

  • Be inspired by the true stories of the hymn-writers.
  • Connect with tenderly written devotionals.
  • Learn to sing twelve classic Christian hymns.
  • Practice piano and guitar with printed music.
  • Understand more about God’s character and grace.
  • Memorize a Bible verse with each hymn.
  • Learn to pray along with their singing.

ADULTS WILL:

  • Give children a lasting musical treasure.
  • Experience the pleasure of filling young hearts with joy.
  • Be equipped with the tools to teach children twelve classic hymns.
  • Enlighten young people with an understandable theology.
  • Enjoy prayer and Bible memorization with kids.

    *~*My Thoughts*~*
  • I received this book several months ago to review for CrossWay books.  We have enjoyed reading about the hymns and singing them together.  The stories are engaging for the girls to read with me and they give special meaning to the hymns.  The illustrations are beautiful and add meaning to the stories.  We also really liked the way that Joni Ericson Tada added meaning to the hymns through her personal application.

We always enjoy singing hymns during our morning opening time.  This book is a great addition to our homeschool library.  I highly recommend purchasing it.  They also have a Christmas Carol addition that I plan to purchase.

Here is the link to purchase through Crossway.

This is so great. I just bought a hymn book for our piano simple enough for my son to play. We love to sing these old hymns! I think I might have to go on teh look out for the book you mentioned now, too.

Have a great weekend.

My family has enjoyed this whole series. I was disappointed to learn they were being discontinued. I found them on http://www.libraryanded.com/ for a good price, so I bought all four. We are using the Christmas Hymns now.

Peace to you,
Renae
