Let me introduce you to our newest family member

Posted in Ponderings

Now even though I told my hubby that I was not ready for a new cat, I just love them and could not pass up the offer from my brother in law.

Last night, my BIL came over (around 8pm) with our newest family member. A solid black cat that is about 1 1/2 years old. My BIL neighbor across the street was the original owner because his cat had kittens that this little beauty was part of, but he never took care of them. My BIL did instead. He gave all of them away and this one was the last. Now we have to go see a vet and get her shots up to date and her health checked out and eventual get her spayed. She seems in good health.

She spent the night under the kitchen table and under the tree. She came out around lunch time when she smelled food, but has not eatten what we have layed out for her. Oh well she will eat when she is hungry, just like one of the kids. LOL

Matt has been having a ball playing with her. I think he is having more fun than the cat. hehe. Matt has decided to call her Gracie, which is much better than his first few choices such as Gray, Blackie and Destiny. I have no idea where that name came from. LOL

So, here are a few pictures of her. She kept trying to rub my hand that was holding the camera or walk around, so it was hard to get a few shots of her not moving. LOL

Beautiful yellow eyes severly highlighted by the camera flash. LOL

She has her favorite spot already picked out. If she only knew that the huge picture window to her right has 4 very active bird feeders out it. She will know as soon as the Christmas tree comes down.

Posted by Beth

Those pictures of Pumpkin when she was young were sooo cute. I logged on tonight just for the heck of it and wow! A new cat! I love black cats, can't wait to meet her.
