On friday night I packed my clothes, and said good bye to my family. Outside grandpa was waiting for me in his small sports car. I threw my stuff in the back and hopped into the passenger's seat. I felt a little nervous, like I usually do before spending the night somewhere. We got to my grandparent's house and I helped grandma put coolers, laptop, bags, food, and boat equipment in the Buick. We got in the car and drove to the lake. We put all the stuff up in the boat, then prepared to be ready to leave in the morning. We got in our pj's, and climbed into bed. Grandma clipped a fan onto the railing so it would blow on me. In the morning, 6:30 we went down to the yacht club and used the facilatys, then got some ice up at the store. We set sail about 1 hour and 30 min. later, me steering the boat while grandma raised the sails. We had some wind, then it died and we had to motor. Soon we had wind again, and I got in my swim shorts and top and I drug behind the boat for a bit. Soon the wind picked up, making us go almost 4 miles an hour. I climbed back into the boat, because at the speed we were going, I would have been left behind. We had to motor again a little later, then good sailing. Dock Dog and Tim sailed past and we threw big marshmellows at each other. We motored into our slip, and some guys helped us tie up. We walked up the the place where the sailors met. This was my my first time to go with my grandma! It was SO fun. I had a awesome time. Pranks played: I got my rival, Phil with a big marshmellow. He was sitting in his seat, and I walked by and dropped a wet, sticky marshmellow down his shirt. It stuck in the middle of his back, just out of his reach. Every time I walked by, I patted the marshmellow! Finaly I pulled it out, and threw it at him. Another time, Phil got out of his seat and was off talking. Dock Dog came over and sat down in Phil's seat. Later, Dock Dog got up and Phil came back and sat down. Dock Dog started clearing dishes, and wiping the table down nicely, and all of a sudden, Dock Dog started wiping all the crumbs into Phil's lap, Phil just stared at him. Phil said "thanks for keeping my chair warm!" |
