Well Deanna's puppy is adjusting very well to her new home and her new name. The night she came home she was Harmony. But then Deanna had trouble using that name so it was quickly changed to Honey instead. So the puppy was Honey for under 24 hours. During the next afternoon it became apparent to me that this name would not work because the name 'Honey' is my pet name for my family members... so it would make things very confusing. So we spent a time that afternoon trying out and discussing different names. There was Daisy (my favorite), Peaches, Buffy, Shadow, Buttons (because she is as cute as a button). Then dear ol dad blurted out "Licorice" and Deanna loved it and it has stuck! So let me please re-introduce the newest member of the family --- Licorice! She has been a really good dog so far. She has been super timid. She loves Deanna and follows her around like a shadow. She loves to sleep in Deanna's bed. When I go into the bedroom in the morning to get the 'girls' up and open the blinds... Licorice hides her head under the nearest blanket and pillow. I guess she is not a morning dog! LOL We have had two accident free days in the house training (YAY!). But we have one major flaw that I have noticed. Licorice likes books. She doesn't like to read them.... she likes to chew on them! I have discovered two of the corners on my Strong's Concordance nicely chewed on by this dear dog. We are going to have words! *grin* I have books everyone where in my house, so we are ging to have to correct this behavior quickly! :o) She started to show her playful puppy side this afternoon. She was running and jumping and chasing and barking (this is the first time we have heard a sound from her). She is super attached to Deanna (and Jordan). Both the kids went out on assignment for the Ranch and she is not impressed that both of them are gone. Poor puppy! |
