Theme Unique or Funny Signs

I haven't been able to post Photo Hunters images lately. The topics just haven't worked for me. But this one -- funny or unique signs? No problem. Even here in Hong Kong where English is a second language, there is plenty of humor for an American.

One thing I love about HK is that, in contrast to China, it is far more friendly and accessible to people with disabilities. Point in case -- handicapped restrooms. I know that for many of you, a special access toilet is not anything to be amazed by. But they are rare in China. This one gets special marks for its peculiar sign.

Sort of broadens the use of the handicapped toilet, doesn't it?

Now this next sign below is not really odd if you look at it with Cantonese speaking eyes. But how can I resist? I don't speak Cantonese.

This dialogue is going through my mind.
Lady A "My dentist Terrence is really great. No pain at all."
Lady B "Really? I heard he was overweight. Is that true? Is he fat?"
Lady A "Girl, FAT is his middle name!"

And we end with a wonderful sign -- not crazy at all.
Wouldn't you love to live here?
It sounds like something from Mary Poppins!

I have not seen the "for weak only" - that is too funny. I guess I have lived here so long that Dr. Fat was just a common name but it is still funny.

Our dentists name is Dr. Paynich. He goes by Dr. Josh. Can you imagine saying to the kiddos, "We are off to see Dr. Paynich to get your teeth cleaned."

We had some ffriends visit China and Japan recently and all they could talk about was the "funny english"! Your blog is so very interesting, my kids even love to read it and see all the pictures.

I haven't visited in awhile (my slow computer takes way too long for frequent visits - bummer!)

I always enjoy your posts. Particularly like the photos. I love the "looking down" perspective. I would get dizzy if I had to hang my laundry out like that! Glad you have your own place now!

Enjoyed the Disney posts as well. 5 mins - wow!

Hi. I came here the other day and read all these signs and didnt get a chance to repsond. Tonight at dinner, I told my hubby about the 'weak' sign --- we had a good time discussing that one.
