My Second Ride!

I took my second ride last night.  It was still scary!  I started out just fine -- no bronco busting this time.  But one time when I took off, all I knew about how to manage the machine went flying out of my brain.  I ended up flying into the neighbor's lawn!  I did remember how to cut the engine, thank God.  I was headed for their living room!

I have come to admire the people who drive these things.  They are a powerful machine -- not a toy -- and it takes physical strength as well as coordination to manage them.  I am not an athletic girl -- maybe that's my problem!

Isaiah all day yesterday kept saying, "Mom, you need to practice your motorcycle!"

My husband is being so patient.  He didn't even laugh when I ended up in the neighbor's front yard.  He did say, "better the yard than the pond."  I hadn't even thought about landing in the pond!  But I could have!  Horrors!

I did learn how to steer around a big circle, going to the left.  Turning is  also scary!

You have got to know me to understand that I am not a motorcycle type of girl.  I'm not athletic, and I'm more into ballet and symphonies than Harleys and hogs!  I keep trying to remember why I thought this was a good idea. . .

I have to admit I'm a bit discouraged.  I'm not accustomed to being a slow learner.  I usually get things the first time -- and I'm not getting this at all!  LOL.  My husband is very encouraging and he didn't even tease me and he loves to tease.  I think he is as puzzled as I am about why I want to do this!

Ok, maybe not crazy but brave, I would not be able to handle such a big machine as a Harley. You are doing well by not giving up and using your sense of humer to figure out, Why am I doing This? I gotta tease you too. Hope you will have a safe and fun time on it after you get used to it.

Way to go, Karla! I am amazed at you learning how to ride a motorcycle. Tell me, why did you think it was a good idea:) Watch out for the ponds. The ducks won't like you popping in!

You came up with some good pet peeves. You are right, we should all let more of the trivial stuff go!
