Still Sick in Bed

It's pretty bad when you've been sick so much that your kids just think it's normal for you to be sick in bed.  I've been sick a LOT this winter, spring and summer.  I get no sympathy from anyone because of not feeling well.

I'm still in a lot of pain today.   I called my doctor and too bad how sad -- he is out until Monday and "I'm sorry but I will just have to write a note and let the doctor who is in tomorrow deal with this.  We close at 3:00 today."

Okay, so we are not allowed to be sick on Thurs. - Sun. now.  I'll have to remember that next time I get tonsillitis!

If you're squeamish, don't look at the diagragm below, but here is what you should know about tonsilitis and how to tell if it's the viral kind or the bacertial kind (other than from a throat swab):

The image “http://www.hcs.calpoly.edu/coldclinic/images/tonsillitis.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Isn't it nice to know I have a grey furry tongue?  Probably more information than you ever wanted to know, eh?

What I didn't realize is that tonsillitis and strep throat are the same thing.  I seem to be a chronic strep throat "getter."  Trust me -- it's not any fun at all.  My ears hurt and burn, my eyes burn, I feel weak and my stomach is upset and I'm really just plain exhausted.

The worst part is that I feel I've let my family down and my husband down and the people at church down this week by being sick.  It's been revival week and here I am all cooped up in this house all alone and not able to participate because I'm just too miserable.

And like I said earlier, I have been sick a lot this past year and people are not very patient with putting up with sick people.  Perhaps God is teaching me about this.  There is something I am supposed to learn -- I hope I learn it so I don't have to keep repeating these lessons.

Still, I have faith that God will heal me and raise me up in His Time!  In the meantime -- could someone just please knock me out until it's over?  This really hurts!

Oh you poor dear! I wish I could help you out somehow! I hate strep throat. It's just miserable. (I didn't know that strep throat and tonsillitis were one and the same!) How frustrating it is when your doctor is always out. Ours is like that too. Pretty soon they'll probably change their working days to just one day a week - at least it seems that way sometimes.... I hope you can get rested and comfortable somehow and get your health back!!
Sending you hugs and chicken noodle soup!

I hear what you are saying about the kids thinking "sick in bed is normal". I've had migraines for 26 years and a host of other things. Just in the past few months God has been taking me on a prayer journey through emotions that trigger my migraines. It has been a hugh burden lifted as I've been able to "dump my cart" at the foot of the cross. He continues to give me peaceful rest through it all as I trust him more and more. Geesh, this sounds pious but I honestly don't mean for it too. Hugs, J

I got strep a LOT as a teenager. I feel your pain... Your not letting anyone down, you need to rest & care for yourself. Getting sick a lot means you need to take care of yourself. Consider Transfer Factor; it's a great immune system booster. Maybe that will help a bit... & lots of C! Blessings to you - I'll pray for your recovery.

Hope your getting better!!! Love your graphic illustrations on the mouth. At least you have a sense of humor left. Get better and get those tonsils out. It worked for my daughter. It does seem to hurt alot more with adults though. OUch.

I use to get sick once a month sinus infection and or step. It's been a while since I've had either--I better watch out. Mine is all related, I think, allergies, sinus irritation--both help the strep get going. I have rhinitis surgery about 6 years ago and that has helped some. I still get strep and an occasional sinus infection, but it's 100% better than it use to be. I know sonds weird but it is

I do hope you get better though...I'll be praying for you.

I'm so glad you are feeling better! Yay! And I certainly hope that you don't have any mold issues...eek. Mold is so yucky. Speaking of mold I've got some in my shower that I need toget rid of. Yuck. I hate to clean! =)
