I'm gearing up for another school year! My room is a MESS! School starts next week -- August 15 -- good-bye to sleeping in and being lazy on the couch with a good magazine or book! The lazy days of summer are O-VER!I teach my own children and have home schooled for 18+ years. But now I also teach a few other children in addition to my own in a cottage school: http://libertyscholars.comI have three less children to teach this year than I did last year. Three of my students moved away to Ohio -- OH! How I MISS THEM! And their Mom! She was my best friend.Today I had fun ordering materials. I am very excited because we are going to use the Art of Eloquence materials from JoJo Tabares!Click here -- it's good stuff! http://artofeloquence.com/index.php
I am also going to use Say What You Mean for Teens with my 15-year-old and his friends. I can hardly wait to get started! I also plan on using the other books for teens, Know Your Audience and Say What You Mean an Advanced Speech Course before my son graduates.I was a theater/communications major in undergrad school, and I am very impressed with the contents of these books. I am so excited to find such good materials for my outgoing, extroverted son! And for his shy friends, I can see how this is going to really help them blossom and grow in social skills. I am like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for the school bell to ring so we can get started!I'll try to check back in before school starts and let you know what else I'm planning.
In regards to my progress on my motorcycle, I went with my husband the other night and we rode our motorcycles to Wabash for his birthday dinner, and then out to the lake again and then home. I love riding! And it was a really pleasant night for it. You can see more of my pictures on http://jesuslovesbikerchickstoo.blogspot.com .Hope your school plans and dreams are coming true! Be sure to fill me in on what YOU'RE doing so I can get some good ideas!

Thanks for sharing on my blog. I think we are alike in our thinking to keep going and not let fibro get in our way. We are both motivated to keep busy in the right things and indulge into life with God. I think fibro keeps me humble and helps me make use of the little energy I have. My kids are better off with my fibro too as they are not as spoiled as they could be. It is a shame that this illness needs to be present in my life to bring me to God and into homeschooling, but hey, I will take it because I have never been happier and complete in my life. I do tend to worry about safety, I think it is because I have teenagers in my home. hee hee Have a great ride!

Wow, such excitment!! I used to get that way but not anymore. I only have my daughter to teach. She is in HS and will for the most part work on her own. I will be doing a Psych. video class at home with my college aged son. It was so much more fun when they were grade school age. Oh the projects we did...sweet memories. Hugs, J
