Where I've Been
I thought I should pop in and explain my absence! My dear friend, Mary Sharp, has been in and out of I.C.U. for the past six weeks. She is two hours away from me in Indianapolis so between working and praying for her and going to see her, I haven't had much energy left to blog.
School is going great! I have super sweet kids this year at the cottage school -- ten in all. We are studying the middle ages. I will be posting more about what we are using for our books this year. We are having an awesome time! Well, okay, I am even if the kids aren't!
I also have a new family member! I just got a rescue dog, a "Golden Doodle." He is ten months old and he is a cross between and standard poodle and a golden retriever. He is sooooo cute! I can hardly wait until my camera gets fixed and I can post pictures. He's ten months old and he's full of joy. I just love watching him leap and run. He makes me giggle.
Another delay in my blogging life is that my computer has crashed again. It has given me the death screen, so please pray I can get it running! I really don't have the extra $$ right now to even take it to a repair shop so I'm going to try and fix it myself. Please pray I have wisdom!
Thanks for checking in! I promise I will be back with full vigor eventually!
Woof!

Congratulations - enjoy your new doggie!
I do hope your friend is doing much better...
Thanks for visiting me & supporting me in my posting on vaccs. I will pray for your children.
I won't read McCarthy's book; definitely won't buy it. I had a post a few down titled "Autism Resources" that addresses that somewhat.
Hope all is well!
Blessings, Michele

1. What types of books do you enjoy reading? (Non-fiction, fiction, history, science, homeschooling, Christian self-help, biographies, etc.)
LOVE historical novels and biographies!
2. What book or kind of book would you like to see published that isn't already published? (What type of homeschool book, self-help book, deovtional/bible study book, fiction, etc.)
Well-researched historical book that brings to life Biblical characters showing the customs, living conditions, etc during their times---not someone's fanciful imaginings, but realistic compostition of the life and times of the particular era.
3. I have 25 years experience as a homeschool Mom and educator. I currently homeschool in a cottage school setting, where I homeschool my own three children and eight others. Would you like to know anything about cottage schooling? If so, what?
How to keep the paper work to a minimum with the different grades and also how to keep accurate and meaningful records.
4. I am a pastor's wife have children with disabilities, ride a motorcycle and love animals. What would you like to know about my experiences?
Please tell how you address your children's disabilities--what activities/programs they're involved with. I enjoy animals, too....am a real sap for dogs especially. We had a Springer Spaniel named Sammy. What is in your menagerie? Motorcycles scare me....sorry, I can't share your passion there.....don't you feel intimidated by the bigger vehicles out on the road?
5. What type of Christian fiction do you like to read? (sci-fi, romance, historical, chick lit., suspense, etc.)
Love mysteries and historical. Not into sci-fi----except for time-travel things---IF it's realistic with actual historical time periods and not on some planet somewhere with non-existent creatures!
Thanks for the contest, Karla! Looking forward to reading your answers about your homeschool and family!
Hugs,
Beth/OR
