Over the past couple of years, I have had several people ask me about Charlotte Mason.  When I find myself repeating information frequently, I feel it is time for a gathering.  In the past I have had luncheons and dessert teas at my home to talk about Charlotte Mason. 

This time, I have reserved a space at a nearby church in which to do "An Evening With Charlotte Mason".  I put an invitation out to my local homeschool group and it seems there will be a good turn-out.  I am excited about this, but at the same time I'm nervous.

I plan to talk about what a CM education looks like, emphasize non-use of textbooks and  explain how to document it into a portfolio for Pennsylvania evaluations.  I'm also making a power point presentation to go along with my talk.

This coming year will be my first with CM. I live in PA and would love to know how you document it into their portfolios. Any suggestions would be great!!!

You should SO NOT BE WORRIED--

You are going to do WONDERFUL-- I have NO DOUBT!!-- I think you are going to do SUCH a GREAT job-- I can't come-- it won't be good for ME-- (incase you didn't read my blog entry--about the HOURS I pour over that CM stuff)-- It just CAN'T work for me especially NEXT year--

But I am very glad you are doing this and I am even more excited a lot of people are coming--

You will do GREAT--I have NO DOUBT!!

I would LOVE something like that here! As I've started focusing on our philosophy of life/learning, I keep coming back to CM. We're taking off the next 3 weeks, ending 07-08 and starting 08-09. During that time I plan on doing as much crash course I can and plan to do more CM this year! Kind of scared about seeming like we're doing less in the process of doing more, does that make sense?

I enjoyed the talk last night; unfortunately I had to leave right away, but wanted to let yo know that. I too was a public school teacher for 13 years (I went to WVU so not far from you) and I never saw a classroom that I would have wanted my own kids to be in. I've dabbled in Charlotte Mason in the past and this year went in a different direction and your talk inspired me to again incorporate CM ideas into my homeschool. Thank you for an enjoyable and informative evening!
