Welcome to my blog on topics about keeping the home - or attempting to - as a Gen X Mom of four and wife to one. :) This blog is written by me, Lori Seaborg, from the Florida-Alabama Gulf Coast. I'm not the person who is ahead of you in mothering and homemaking knowledge. I'm just the gal right beside you, motivating the 11yo daydreamer, keeping up with the 9yo future homemaker extraordinaire (every mama needs a helper like this one!), teaching the rascally 6-year-old while occupying the 3yo. Let's learn together!
I was so happy the other day when an email buddy sent me a link to the Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge . The challenge works not only on your home, but also on your heart, which likely needs some cleaning as well! (mine always does).
I printed out that organizer (about 85 pages) and put them in a brand new 3-ring binder. My house is not the mess it once was, thanks to Flylady (and even more thanks to God!), but I still find it hard to get deep cleaning done. For some reason, the dust bunnies and the toys under the boys' beds do not get cleaned out on their own! So I'm using the Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge to do a "Spring" cleaning of my house.
Yesterday, we started with the van. Oh, my! The things you can find in cubby holes and under seats in a van! Whew, I'm glad that one is over.
In my desire to get organized for the new school year we are cleaning & organizing and scheduling this week. We spent most of the day yesterday cleaning out my car also. UGH, what a disgusting task! The things a 3 & 4 yr old can do to a car are just atrocious! And we also got the dog bathed, a huge feat in itself. It was great meeting you on friday & I will check out this website. It sounds like just the thing I could use right now.

Hi Lori!
I am going to go check into that right now. I have heard of it a bunch and it seems that a lot of people are doing it, but I have always skipped over it. Well, it's time.
Thanks for posting the link. ;)

Thank you for sharing this! I, too, am trying to clean out and have made great progress, but really have a hard time with deep cleaning, too!! I remember the van days - you never knew what you were going to find! I'm sure you are glad that is over with! I found a CD of the flylady from one her conventions at the library the other day and it was only 50 cents! Can you believe that? Can't wait to listen to it!! Take care and God bless!
Lori, your blog is always so full of great ideas and encouragement! I'm so thankful when I can slip into the homeschool room and log on for a few quiet moments to read your new posts -- and we have 6 children, so that's not always easy! God bless you!

I started last time, but we had some surprise stresses and had to stop, but i might print it out and start over in a couple weeks once we've settled... we have moved. Just afew more boxes to unpack and then the REAL settling in begins! re-organizing, moving things, Aagh!!
There are none of those are there, It is so funny that I just wrote on my blog about needing to get organized and then first thing after saving it I came to your blog to read! I will go check out the organizer right now! Thanks for posting.
