Yesterday was our first day of school and
it was lots of fun. Actually, I'm glad to get back into a
routine. Since we travel during the summer to homeschool
conventions, it is difficult to stay on a schedule. August was a
bit crazy since I released my book, Raising Leaders Not Followers. September brings us a welcomed schedule!
Of course, we had our traditional ice cream breakfast....yummy!
Since my oldest two have a Theology class on Tuesday mornings, we had
breakfast at 10. I guess it was an ice cream brunch.
After breakfast we took our first day pictures and the kids got some
new books/supplies. We started reading Robinson Crusoe. My
son always enjoys books set on the sea, so I hope he likes this
one. It starts out with a shipwreck and being stranded alone on
an island... While we read aloud, the kids worked on an art
puzzle to help see shapes as your draw. How to Draw Real People
looks promising to teach us more drawing skills
