oh what is one more? Butterflies!
I know... 4 new posts in one night. But I have one more thing to blog about. And I think they are all better separate instead of one big post.
We had butterflies arrive! I think the pictures speak for the post.

Alyssas First Day of First Grade!
Ok, so we decided to go ahead and start school back up. I know that when this baby comes I will want time off, when Christmas comes, when our Make a Wish Trip to Disney comes... so lots of breaks planned for. Why not start now and get a jump on things so I am not feeling guilt when we do break later.

I am having such a good time with this year already! Alyssa is doing so wonderful! I guess our break from finishing Kindergarten in April until starting her First right now, really matured her! The work is more of a challenge and takes more time but she is really enjoying it! And I am impressed with the quality of her work, writing and even double checking things!

So two days under our belt and we are off and running! And enjoying it!! Even though the look on Alyssa's face tells a different story in the picture above! lol
ETA - oh and what is with the first grader and the sippy cup? Well you spend $$$ on books and give a glass of grape juice to your kid! lol No way am I having grape juice spilled on our school books the 2nd day of school!

On a homeschool note...
Making Butter
Place 1/2 pint of whipping cream in a pint jar. Help your child shake the jar until the cream thickens. Children love watching it turn into butter. Pour off excess liquid and rinse with cold water. Sprinkle with salt and blend in salt with a spoon. Spread over breads or crackers.
That was something I want to do when I get to the store to get some. Thought I would share incase someone else wanted to try.
Now a few things we have done Monday.
We got a 2x4 and worked on balance. Tristan said "It is easy, I can do it with one foot on the ground!" hee hee

And Alyssa enjoyed working on her balance.

Then we did an experiment where we put a raw egg in vinegar. What would happen to it. After a day and a half it turned like this!

And just to show how my babies are growing!

rambles.
Well today is the last day of giving Tristan chemo before he starts his delayed intensification. He will be having a week off meds to get his counts back up. YAY!
Please pray for him Thursday. He is having dental surgery. Just being put to sleep to probably crown some teeth and get them cleaned and all. But he will be put to sleep in the OR. So just say a prayer for that.
Saturday is Tristan's birthday party. So we are getting things ready for that. His birthday is on Tuesday. He will be 3! Sniff Sniff. He is growing up so much!
Yesterday was a good homeschool day. I got pictures but we are having issues with my laptop right now so I do not have them for you yet. I got these tales of glory toys from walmart on sale. They are bible character toys. I love them! It is so cute to see my kids playing with their bible toys. We read the little stories that went along with them then the kids had free play. I got out some sensory boxes. Alyssa had one and Tristan another. One was filled with field corn and indian corn. The other had dried oats in it. They were playing a long time with cups and spoons and their bible toys in it.
We also made coffee filter butterflies for art. Where you take a coffee filter and draw on it with marker. Then you drop water onto it to run the colors. Then let it dry. Tie it up with a pipe cleaner and you have a butterfly. Once again - pictures later!
Chugging along in school. I gave Alyssa a list of words. Normally she will read them to me like nothing. Well I said the T word. URGH. I said this is a test to see how much you know. Blah. She clams up. She starts her reading all shaky and it is totally annoying. Guess she needs more tests to get over her fear. I swear if I do not say it is a test she flys through it. Say it is a test and she was freaking out reading 3 letter words! I bet if I show her the same page today and do not say test she will fly through it.

McConnells Mill Tour and IRL with a GREAT friend.
Although my trip was rushed due to unexpected plans with Dhs family, I had a really nice time on Saturday. My great friend Dini's family and mine, had a field trip to McConnells Mill. It was a Heritage Festival this weekend and we had a guided tour of the mill. I found it really interesting. Especially with my new desire to grind my own grains and getting my own grain mill for Christmas. It was really cool to see how the Mill did it.
I laughed as her son Luke answered every question the guide had. His hand shot up light lightening to be the volunteer. And he was always at the rail front and center to see and hear about the equipment and history. On the other hand, my dd and Dini's youngest were making their dad's hold them and not interested at all, well until we got to the basement where the "bathtub" according to my son Tristan, was at. It was where the turbines were and they really liked looking at the water.
But once we let them loose on the trails they were their old selves again, running and exploring everything!
The trail was nice. The trip BACK up to our car however - kicked my butt!!! Up the cliff, about 30 flights of stone steps with landings between that were a good bit of walking! I am not sure if I am exagerating or if this is accurate. It sure felt like 200 flights of steps. So guessing 30 doesn't seem so bad! hee hee
Here is a picture of the mill and water.

This part of the tour REALLY intrigued me because this was a grain grinder. The great grandfather of the grain grinders we purchase today. What I am hoping for, for Christmas!

The kids also got to go inside a Teepee. Wow not sure how to spell that.

But they LOVED that!

It was a great day.
Here is a family picture I took. I look awful but I cannot seem to fix it in photoshop
I guess the true best way to fix it would just be to LOOSE WEIGHT! Ok ok I know.

Our field trip to the Zoo and Meeting Barbie.
A good friend online posted a link to meeting Barbie the Island Princess and a sneak peek at the new movie. They had it at the Pittsburgh Zoo. It was so much fun!
And it was a rainy day so hardly anyone showed up. Good for us! Both my cousin and Alyssa won prizes!
Here is Alyssa meeting Barbie

And here was a few things we did this time at the Zoo. We have a zoo pass and each time we have gotten to see/.do something different. I am totally loving the Zoo pass!
This time we got to see Elephants getting a bath!

And the girls got to touch and feel teeth and tusks

They got to do the touch the sting ray thing. Alyssa flipped out! She knows all about Steve Irwin and was so afraid. i however, LOVED it! I have never touched one before.
She also got to touch a baby opossom and I think it was a gecko. Not sure but I know the tales break off if iot feels caught. I am not sure if there is anything else besides a gecko that does that.

Continually Being Amazed
I had a VERY nice day of homeschool with Alyssa. That girl is so awesome. (Remind me of this tomorrow when she is grinding my last nerve with her whining) She told me repeatedly while doing her Singapore Math Workbook how much she LOVES homeschool. Words for melting my heart. I love it too!
We are chugging along with our summer work. I just ordered 3 new items from Answers in Genesis today. Aquarium and Zoo Guides
Check them out! They look so great! Since Alyssa has informed me she wants to be an animal scientist it is the least I can do. We are making and animal science book and trying to learn all we can. She is telling everyone know that "Mommy is schooling me to be an animal scientist" HA! I am a tad nervous about that one! lol But hey, why not.

Another Good Day and Kids Who Won't Stop Asking For MORE School!
Summer School is supposed to be a LIGHT schedule for me! Then WHY do both my kids keep begging me for more!? lol This morning I had BOTH of these little boogers bothering me during my alone time! I eat breakfast in front of my computer. It is me time to just relax and get ready for the day. After breakfast when Daddy leaves for work, we can start their school! I had BOTH the kids at my legs wanting to start now! lol What is up with that! Guess they like it.
Today was Orange day. We colored the Orange Stripe for our Rainbow. We also made Peach Jell-O. And we played with Aluminum Foil for "A" and just to experience it. I do Alyssas workbooks with her later. She keeps wanting more so I keep pulling things from our Kindergarten shelf that I planned to do later. She is already into her Mind Benders workbook that I had set aside for next year!
Her new thing is she is loving Zoboomafoo! She wants to be an Animal Scientist like them. So she has asked me to find things for her to learn about Animals with. She said - will you teach me to be like them. So here I sit. Printing and Printing coloring sheets about Animals from Zoboomafoos website. I think I am going to crack into the Kindergarten work once again. I have some Animal devotions that are really good.
So what happened to LIGHT summer work?! Well when your kids beg you to keep learning - what else can you do?

Summer School :)
Well we have been doing summer school with Alyssa for a bit now. But this morning I started stuff with Tristan also! It was fun. I started Alyssa and Tristan and I held hands and said a short prayer to have a good day of learning. Then we all held little flags. It was supposed to be Alyssa holding it for our pledge of allegiance but you know how that goes. I had to get Tristan one too.
After that we put up Monday magnet I made on the fridge and sang
"Today is Monday, Today is Monday, All day long, All day long. Yesterday was Sunday, Tomorrow will be Tuesday, but Today is Monday, today is Monday" to the tune of "where is Thumbkin"
The we ran to the porch to check the weather. And picked from my weather magnets which to put up. It was still Cloudy this morning so we picked Cloudy.
Then we put up a big "A" for our letter of the week.
And a blob of red for our color of the day.
We all dressed in Red and ate Strawberry Scones that Tristan and I made for breakfast. Yum! Got the recipe from Family Fun Magazine and it was good!
We colored a stripe of a rainbow together (red) and pasted it to our sky.
We then made an apple tree from construction paper and filled it with Red circles and wrote A's on them.
And we had hotdogs and ketchup for lunch and I used their string cheese to make an A on their plates! lol
Alyssa had a lot of fun "teaching" Tristan. The after lunch we did Alyss's workbooks. It was a good day.

Last day of Preschool! We are finished! woohoo!
we logged in 186 days this year. Sonlight Preschool is finished! YEAH! Here is a picture of Alyssa doing some mazes on her last day of preschool.

Next week we are going to do summer school. Nothing official just want to continue with Bible everyday. And I have some workbooks and readers I want her to work on. She LOVES workbooks so this should not be a problem. And since it is not official I can decide to do it or not if I want. I did it! woohoo! She did it! She is such a good kid.

Gods Unseen Blessings and just other ramblings.
Well life is interesting. Everyone is sick in the Irwin house hold. We had a fun night on Thursday at the ER with Tristan. But to be honest I don't want to relive it by typing it anymore. Lets just say he was dehydrated and 12 times of IVs didnt work they finally went into his shin bone. That is a horrid thing for a mother and father. I am still having a hard time dealing with it. I know and praise God that is all we have had to deal with though because life could be so much worse. Who knows the countless miracles that go unknown to us that God saves our little ones from facing.
I was holding him while he was falling asleep this morning (we stayed home from church due to his ear infection, watching his bone for infection and nastey colored snot). I was thinking how God wants us to do things in secret. Not shout it out to the world. I started thinking he often wants us to model his own actions. And I wondered how much God actually spares our family or does for us that we don't know of. What could have beens. Thank you Jesus for your hand of protection on my family.
Alyssa and I are chugging along with homeschooling. I have everything for next year here and I am already piecing it together. Sonlight, MathUSee, some home Economics, Learning Language Arts Through Literautre and MindBenders. For Science I decided to hold off on starting Jeannie Fulbrights until next year when Tristan can join us. We will be using Five Min Devotions and more Five min devotions and lots of magic schoolbus books that we own. And a few experiments here and there. I am having fun looking at all my goodies and planning my year already. Yes I am that obsessive about things.
We are doing an experiment now where you food color the flowers water. I got some white carnations really cheap after Valentines day. It looks really pretty on my window against the white snow outside. I have a picture I just need to upload it.

New Blog Look And Video of Alyssa
Well I revamped my blog. I did not want to change my blog looks but I wanted to put up the pictures I took for Christmas. Since they were red I figured a Valentines theme and here you have it.
I really need to get some of those pictures up top printed out. My dh would not let me go to walmart to get pics done this year because I always spend WAY too much money. But now I really need to get those printed out. If I do say so myself I did a pretty nice job.
The kids weren't as cooperating as they look though. out of like 53 pics - those were the good ones. The rest look more like red faced, snot nosed, screaming pics. Alyssa did pretty good but getting her to smile normal these days is a treat. Guess it is her age.
I cant type long, My wrist is hurting big time. I think it is from my computer desk being a cheapo and bending my wrists wrong. But it is killing me. :( Not good, not good at all.
Homeschooling is doing well. I did a video clip of my dd today. But when I took it she got distracted. Before hand she had read this perfectly. When I taped she kept wanting to smile for the camera, which meant she did not LOOK at the words. then that means they were not read right. Then Tristan came out from his nap. And she is sick with a cold. Oh well. you get the picture.
But here is the video anyways.
NOT SURE WHY I CANT GET THIS VIDEO TO WORK. IT WORKS ON MY MESSAGE BOARDS. IF YOU CANT SEE IT TRY THIS LINK

100 EZ Lessons, Vacations and More!
Hi! My dh has been on vacation so I have not been online hardly at all! He is off until after Christmas.
Things are going very well. Can I ask a prayer request?! If anyone feels lead to pray for a position change for Justin that would be amazing! The way it works where he is that if the new position comes up then they post a sheet for it. If noone with higher seniority signs the page then he gets it. In a week or two there is one coming posted that will mean good things for us. Justin is a Tractor Trailer Driver. We want him to get the over the road position instead of the local driving. What is great about where he works is that it is still home every day. Over the road does not mean gone away for more than a normal day.
Of course this is a more $ job but that is not all reasons for wanting the position. He has passed up signing before because we did not feel it was best for us. Right now we are praying hard because we do.

Ok now to blog about Homeschooling!
Things are going GREAT! We are on the flip side of our prek experiance. We have completed 97 days already, today will make 98. She is doing so well!
I started the book "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 EZ Lessons" . It was not very recommended in my group of online homeschool friends. But I had asked AFTER I bought it and for $16 it is not really breaking my bank should I hate it.
I am keeping a journal in my homeschool tracker on how we are doing with it. So far we have done 3 lessons and my experiance is positive. I do see all their feedback as being something I would think too. I am trying to just keep an open mind, remember that is DOES work for some people so perhaps Alyssa is the type of learner it will work for.
Have any of you worked with it and loved it for your kids? I would LOVE to hear about it.
___________________________________________________
Sonlight is going well! I love that stuff and of course having the new job would mean I can get it again next year :::::PRAYING HARD::::::
I have to say though. The things I am using that I absolutely will not pass up for Tristan is my ABC Readiness Series I got from Christians Light Education. They are workbooks from Rod and Staff. I think they are very good! We have finished A, C and D already. We are saving B for the summer as it is Bible and we already have Bible in our Sonlight. I was thinking to myself last night when she was working on her Singapore Math, man she needs some review on her numbers. We have not seen them in a while and she is forgetting which way they go. All formed kinda right just not the right way. Well lo and behold, I picked up our lessons for today starting book E. They review ALL the numbers again! I was just tickled pink about it. Ok that is silly but seriously. I love these books.
___________________________________________________
Well it is 4 more sleeps till Christmas! Have any of you watched Muppets Christmas? We got the CD sound track to it when my brother went to the Army. We played "Afterall theres only one more sleep till christmas" over and over before he got to come home on leave when in basic training. It has a special place in my heart.
Better go now. Glad to talk to you all again. Hopefully I will be on more after the holidays!

Just some rambles on how things are going.
This is week 10 in our prek Sonlight. This week we are adding in all few more books. I am excited as more variety for us this week to spice things up.
Alyssa is... difficult sometimes. I love her to pieces but man is she a piece of work. I really do not enjoy her attitude. The faces she makes etc. Then there comes the frustratedness and the stopping working to play Ninja Turtles. I want her to concentrate but she is always taking us off subject back to what is most important to her - playing. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ok, I just needed that vent. As right now she is doing a cut and paste sheet from Rod & Staff Workbooks and pretending the ninja turtles are spitting up on the work.
The main things - we do get her work done. She is doing very well. I am just thinking we need to do something different. Perhaps do school first thing in the morning. Problem is we do school when Tristan is napping. When he is older we will get into a more ideal time and schedule. Now I am like ok quick lets get on with it. Oh well.
Things are going great. This week looks jammed packed with stuff. I find it very satisfying to check off things in the homeschool tracker. Don't forget if you dont have a free homeschool tracker I have a link on my sidebar to download it. It is a GREAT tool!

Our Bubble Bomb was a ... bomb :) lol
Alyssa did NOT like making our bubble bomb. I got some easy science experiments off the computer.
The one we did yesterday was a bubble bomb.
This is where we learn about how acid-base reaction makes cakes and quick breads rise. From the bubbles.
It was rather convient as the WowWowWubzy we watched yesterday on demand was about putting too much baking powder/soda into the cake and the batter over took the town. So I was able to use that as an example.
Alyssa did NOT like the bomb because the pop was too loud. I think she is silly because she covered her ears and it was NOT bad at all. Just a pop of the bag. But you know Alyssa.
9 weeks down of homeschool! I am so proud of her.

Where I am at, Saltdough, Ninja Turtles and No excuses.
It is HARD to find time to post on my boards and blog lately. Sorry if I seem neglectful. That is not my intent as I read blogs and message boards but when it comes time to post the kids have usually decided my times is up and need something. A one and a half year old does not have a long attention span to entertain himself! lol
I am finding out that my daughter is a workbook freak! She just cannot get enough of the "drawing part" of school. We do Sonlight so we have a lot of books to read. I think the big deal to Alyssa is when we do workbooks she gets to play. We play Teenage Mutent Ninja Turtles (yes my DAUGHTER is CRAZY over the old cartoons my dh downloaded and we got a dvd of 12 of them from Walmart). She picks the color crayon to use to represent which turtle she is playing. I am all the others saying "Leonardo is NEVER going to get that right" and then she shocks all the rest of the turtles by how wonderful she does.
When we read stories she can't play anything. So she is like - lets get this over so we can do the workbooks!
Anyways. That is how it goes. Here is a picture of Alyssa making Saltdough from our sonlight. Lets just say - that was a disaster. I did not have cream of tarter (or know where to even look for it in the store) for playdough. So we tried the salt dough. YUCK!

And here is my little leftie doing his work. lol

I cannot wait till he is older to homeschool also. Because I often feel like - Ok, lets put Bubby away so we can do some work. I feel bad like I am ignoring him. So my goal this week is to make some time to school Tristan. Be it seriously looking through books and naming stuff, talking about his blocks, talking more colors, or working on one two three on his fingers. I used to work so much more with Alyssa by his age. It is just so hard. Blah. No excuses.

2 Tests Down, and Order from Marmees Kitchen
At the end of the Rod and Staff Workbooks there are tests to see if they remember the things they learned in the book. We took two days to do one a day. I know she knew the stuff but it was very satisfying to have her sit nicely and follow my directions exactly! Normally she is making us play Littlefoot (Dinosaur) or Leonardo (Ninja Turtle) doing their school work and it is a pretend game the whole time. She did so wonderful at listening for what I said and not rushing. I think making sure everything was neat and quiet as we did it made a big difference.
Just a start but still two tests A+ . I don't think I am big on tests. But they are in
there so we are doing them too
I am noticing a HUGE improvement in her work and it has only been 6 weeks! Watching her improve on tracing and listening to directions. Her coloring and cutting is getting better. I am not sure if it comes with her age (she will be 4 TOMORROW!) or if it comes with practice. I think a little of both. But either way I am getting very pleased with how things are going.
I got my Kitchen Primer and Just My Size Tools from Marmee Dear. I won $25 to the schoolhouse store. And I picked this set for $24.95. It is so nice! The tools are really cute.
It came with a catalog and let me tell you. I am ITCHING to buy more things. I have a list already over $50 of stuff I want. A kit for making cookies with Just my size tools and ABC cookie cutters. The entire set of letters!
Another thing that will be coming to my home is the little boys handymans primer. And a few other little things. Just gotta save up some $.

Week 5 in Sonlight PreK
Things are going great! We had some down time with funerals and mils vacation, my brother coming up from MD but we are back on track. Alyssa is doing so well. We get sooooooooooo much done with Tristan is asleep! But that is not much time. I figure I am NOT going to sweat it this year. As he gets older things will get much better and we can do more. We get it all done just not as easy as I would like it to be. I also find myself deleting things. Hooked on Phonics is taking a back seat. That is ok. I figure as long as I get in my Core Sonlight and our Math we are good to go.
She is doing wonderful on memorizing her memory verses. I was worried about those but it turns out I did not have anything to worry about. Alyssa is a whiz at memorizing. We make motions to the hard ones but honestly- the motions are more for me to learn than her.
So that is where we are with Sonlight. Almost done with week 5. Not bad since the schools around here just have had 2 days of school so far.
Did you all see I won Gena's contest!? I am so thrilled! $25 to the Schoolhouse Store! I got a Kitchen Primer and Just My Size tools from Marmies Kitchen. I have been eyeing that up for a long time. They also make a boys primer that I will get for Tristan when he is older too.

Lunch at the Irwin Family Homeschool

Ok, in answer to Gena's... er um Sprittibees' contest... here is our homeschool lunch. I cannot take a pic today as my daughter is SICK SICK SICK and her lunch is some Kaolectrolyte right now.
This was the other day when Tristan was on soft foods only due to the fact that he smashed his front teeth back. Update on that, Dentist says they are doing well after a week check up, he wants to check him again in October. The 25th (little reminder for myself)
Ok, just went in to check on Alyssa and here is her at lunch today. I think we can declare today a sick day. Please say a prayer for her because she is going the bathroom every 10 mins and very miserable about it.

For the record - we are preschool/homeschoolers. Alyssa is currently doing Sonlight Exploring God's World. Also Singapore Math, Handwriting Without Tears, Rod and Staff workbooks and a little Hooked On Phonics.
One more from the other day... Just for fun -

Well you did want to see a homeschoolers lunch right!?

Can't wait for fall and my summer game plan.
Today Alyssa and I did school on the porch swing. Oh I cannot wait until fall. I wish I could freeze this place in fall weather. I cannot wait to swing on the porch swing with her, reading her books while Tristan naps, as the cool fall breeze is around us.
I think I have figured out what we are going to do. We are going to do a typical school year. And then use summer for my extras that I just cannot give up! I am finding I have too much GOOD stuff. I just don't know how to fit it all in. And I don't want to ditch anything.
I have the Seven C's and Answers for Kids from AIG. those are bible/science stuff. I have all of Jeannies books. And I want to do the core of Sonlight with their science too. I have too much bible stuff and too much science. I just cannot make myself ditch any of it. So I am thinking that I will do sonlight during the year and make summers my extra stuff time. That way we won't ever get out of the habit of doing school - and we can do the fun things I just cannot pass up working with then.
I already have the bible stories and stories to color from Rod and Staff scheduled for the summer. Because Sonlight has bible stories each day, I figured I would make that when it is over. I don't want to double up and make her feel overload.
So anyways. That is my game plan.

Two weeks down.
We hit some snags on Alyssa being frustrated because she could not do something. But she is going good. With just two things to finish up tomorrow we are finished with another week. We doubled up today because Grandma is coming swimming tomorrow.
Alyssa is frustrated with her math because she was not copying her numbers exactly right. She is a perfectionist. I think this is pretty good.
She got especially frustrated with her 2's and 3's. So we had to take those slower.
I am having a hard time fitting Hooked on Phonics in with my days. I wanted to do it daily but with the part we are on being on a cassette tape - it is hard. I only have one in the bedroom and it is just not convient.
One of Alyssas daily pet bugs

Anyways. The kids were on the computer today and I thought this was a cute picture. Tristan likes to watch the media player but Alyssa made me turn it off for her to play NickJr. Stinkin DH who taught her to use the computer! She is always wanting to have it from me now! lol

And her Magna doodle Buffalo! lol

School is going so well!
Just like the entry title - School is going so well! 3 days down. Alyssa is doing awesome! She likes the personal time I think. And she is improving just from where I saw her a few months back.
Like her cutting. A few months ago she did not even know how to hold the scissors correctly and I thought her hands must be too small. Now her lesson yesterday was to cut on the dotted line, then around the boxes then paste the pictures under their matching pictures. Her cutting was great!
She is actually taking her time at something! Which is amazing. I also noticed how neatly she was trying to stay on the lines on her workbook page. She figured out an eraser though! When she did not follow the line correctly she made me erase it so she could try again.
Then once she started matching with a line to items when the directions did NOT tell her to do that. I told her she would not get a sticker if she did that. And she started to again and stopped herself crying - PLEASE! make it go away! (it was crayon) Please let me get a sticker! I told her if she did the rest carefully and followed my directions I would see. Or course she got one.

I KNEW I could not wait!
Guess what we did yesterday! We started school! I am so bad! I just could not wait! I figured why not?! If we need days off, starting sooner just means I can take them off.
I had the BEST day! And we got TWO days done because I knew today we were going into town ALL day.
Poor Alyssa! Tristan is almost bigger than her!

Not a flattering picture but here she is beading while we practiced our memory verse.

While we were in the kitchen working Tristan snuck on the computer!

We worked all day long in spurts. It was very nice. We finished up the day with HWT and tomorrows math lession after Tristan went to bed. Then snuggled on the couch with the next days read alouds.
Day 1 and 2 finished... 178 more to go! woohoo!

Ramblings for Today
Last night when I was putting Alyssa to bed she asked if we could go see a volcano someday. I told her NO WAY! But promised to look at them on the internet today.
I am just not a google queen like a few of my online friends (JenW). But we did fine a few pictures.
Today we are playing Sportacus and Stephanie. I showed her how Stephanie could make a picture by scribbling on a page then coloring the shapes in. I used to LOVE doing that as a kid. So of course I made one too! lol They are always different and pretty colored.
I think I set my start date for August 28th... but now that Danielle said hers was August 21st... it is making me itch to move mine up. But my reasoning was because her cousins will be over and want to play the last week of summer vacation for the public school kids. So reality is I should keep my date.

Run Down of what Alyssa will be starting in the fall.
Alyssa turns 4 on Sept 13th so we will officially do preschool. If she was being sent to school she would be going half a day to the local preschool here so only natural for me to start her then also.
So since Natasha asked for a run down on what I will be doing with her come fall, here it is...
I will go back to really doing Handwriting Without Tears - Get Set For School.
Then we will work at the same time starting Hooked On Phonics.
And book 1b of Singapore Early Bird Math.
Have not decided what bible I will be doing.
She is also learning to use the computer now too.
I also plan to randomly have her watch some leapfrog videos and do lots of playdough and painting.
