~ Monday, August 11, 2008 - Our First Day of School! :)

Hello Everyone! :) Today was our First day of school!!! I had a Great First day! I can't believe I am a 9th grader, a Freshman in highschool! :)

I love all of my new school books! Especially I love my World Geography book! Here is my schedule:

My Scheldule

~Bible and Bible Journal (I am reading Deuteronomy)

~Spelling (We are starting this next week)

~Math- Abeka Algebra 1

~Science-Abeka "Science of the Physical Creation"

~World Geography- Abeka "World Geography"

~Grammar- Abeka Grammar and Compostion (This is still my 8th grade one. We didn't do much grammar last year)

~Literature- Abeka "Themes in Literature" (Whatever days I won't be doing Grammar, I will be doing Literature)

~Read the book I am currently reading- I started reading a book called "Boston Jane" today and it is really good!

Things we are doing later in the year

~Health- Abeka Health in a Christian Perspective

~Abeka Spanish :) (I think that will be fun, but hard. :)

There is my Schedule! :) I didn't do Literature or spelling today, but I did everything else. :) I think it will be a Great Year! :)

I found this tag and I thought it would be really fun to answer since it deals with school and homeschooling. :)

The Homeschool Tag

- How long have you homeschooled? For 2 years going on 3 years.

What grade did you start homeschooling? I was in 7th grade.

What grade are you in now? 9th

How old were you when you started? 12

Do you like homeschooling? YES! I Love it! :):):):):):):):):):)

Have you ever gone to school? Yes.

How long did you go to school? From Kindergarden to 6 weeks of 7th grade.

Do you intend to home school your kids when you grow up? Yes I do! I think it will be a Wonderful experience to teach my children! :)

What are two things that you like about homeschooling? I Love having a Great teacher and a Great Principle (Mom and Dad) who always want what is best for me. :) I also Love reading my school books on my own pace and Really enjoying it! :)

Do you totally go against public schools? I am mostly against them now, since I have been to one. I think it is a horrible place to go and try to be a Christian. It is hard to not get sucked into what everyone else wants to do or is doing. I had a very hard time being in public school so I feel really bad for the ones that are in public school. (No offense to anyone though.)

Do you have friends who are not homeschoolers? Well, I do have a few friends at church that are not homeschoolers. I have Very many friends that are homeschooled too. :)

Is it hard to get along with public school friends? Sometimes my few public school friends at church think it is strange that I am homeschooled, but it isn't too hard. Though, my friends are Christians (Or say that they are.) so it isn't hard to be around them since we both have a love for God. If I had a non-christian public school friend it would be Very hard to be around them and get along with them.

What is the first thing other people say when they find out that you homeschool? When my mom tells adults that she homeschools my sister and I, many people say "Your Brave!" to my mom. I think that is kind of strange when people say that. Other people say "That's Great!", but you never know what people are thinking. I don't care though, I LOVE being homeschooled and I will NEVER go back to public school again! :)

Who are you going to tag? Anyone who wants to. :)

That was a Really great tag! :) I Really do LOVE being homeschooled!

I hope everyone has a Great day and week! :)

                        pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

I think that is a really good one and I wanted to share that with all of you! :)

~ Monday, July 28, 2008 - A New Template, A Trip, and Painting Oh My!

Hello Everyone! I have a New template! I felt like it was time for a change. Do any of you like it?

 We got home from my Uncle Eric's and Aunt Lisa's house last Tuesday afternoon! (We got there last Sunday afternoon) We had a Wonderful time being there and visiting!! Hope and I had a really fun time being with our cousins! Timothy has gotten a lot bigger too since we last saw him! :) When we were there we saw their animals: Chickens, goats, and pigs. We got to see there piglets too, they were really cute! :)

We also played with our cousins a lot while we were there. They had a trampoline that they bought a little while ago so we played on that which was SO much fun, epecially with all 6 of us on it! :)

On Tuesday we went out to eat with them at Ponderosa's steak house and then went to this really neat place called The Mountain HomePlace. It had old buildings like a church, schoolhouse, farm house, barn, and blacksmith shop! I think the time period that all of this was from was around the 1800s, but I don't know for sure. We went on a tour through all of  the buildings which was really fun! :) I love historical things so I enjoyed visiting this place with them! :)

I have been doing a few other things as well. I have mostly been playing around with my American Girl Doll website which has been really fun! (You can CLICK HERE to go to it. It is also on my sidebar.) I have a lot more things on it than I first started. :)

Last Thursday my mom, sister Hope, and I went out to eat at Dewey's Pizza and went to a place called Color Me Mine. It was SO much fun! At Color Me Mine you get to paint ceramics! When we went it was a "Girls Night Out" day and it was half price for the sitting fee. We got to pick out what we wanted to paint (I painted a tea cup and saucer) and we got to pick what paint we wanted to use too. They had a lot of materials you could use and it was SO cool! We have to wait until this Thursday (Which will be a week) to pick them up though. They put the ceramics in a Kiln to heat them up and that makes the paint glossy. After we were done painting we headed to the Starbucks Coffee right next to it and I got a Strawberry and creme frappachino! (It was really good!) I had a Great time!!! I will be sure to post pictures of the Tea cup and saucer I painted when I get it! :)

Well, I have to eat dinner. I hope everyone has a Wonderful and Blessed Day!! :)

Au Revoir! :)

~ Saturday, July 19, 2008 - Simply Jane...

Hello Everyone! :) I have been wanting to post this for a pretty long time! :)

Well, I few weeks ago on Tuesday, July 8th my mom, my sister Hope, and I went to a Jane Austen event at our library called Simply Jane! It was SO much fun!  We watched a biography on her and also had light refreshments and tea. :) It was very fancy and very fun too! ;) As most of you know, Jane Austen is the Author of Pride and Prejudice and she has written 5 other books as well. We were given the book "Emma" to read and this coming Tuesday we get to see the movie! :) It is kind of like a book club because the next time we meet after the movie which is on August 12th we will discuss Emma and take home Persuasion. Here is our Jane Austen Discussion Group Calendar:

July 8, watch A&E biography, take home Emma

July 18, Jane Austen dies in 1817

July 22, watch Emma, starring Gwyneth Paltrow

Aug 12, discuss Emma, take home Persuasion

Aug 26, watch Persuasion, starring Ciaran Hinds

Sept 9, discuss Persuasion, take home Pride and Prejudice

Sept 23, watch Becoming Jane starring Anne Hathaway

Oct 14, discuss Pride and Predjudice, take home Northanger Abbey

Oct 28, watch Northanger Abbey

Nov 11, discuss Northanger Abbey, take home Sense and Sensibility

Nov 18, watch Sense and Sensibility starring Emma Thompson

Dec 9, discuss Sense and Sensibility

(Dec 16, Jane Austen born in 1775)

It was So much fun the last time that I think that they will all be fun! I don't know how many we will be able to do, but I hope we get to go to many of them!

I didn't know much at all about Jane Austen before we went, but after I watched the biography I knew a lot more than I did before. My mom, sister, and I have been reading Emma out loud together. I have really enjoyed what we have read so far!  Jane Austen is such a neat writer! I also love the time peroid that she was in and wrote as the setting. :)

Here are 2 pictures. One of Hope and I at our table, and the second one of the refreshments! :)

 I loved the refreshments! I tried scones for the first time and I love them! :)  ( The scones are the things in the picture that look like sugar cookies) I also drank Earl Grey tea which tasted really good. :) I felt very English. :)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! :) Have any of you read any of the books by Jane Austen? If so, please let me know! Also, if you have read Emma, please let me know how you liked it! :)

I hope everyone has a Wonderful and blessed day! :)

Ps~ Tomorrow after church we are leaving to go to my Uncle Eric's and Aunt Lisa's house!!! I can't wait to see my cousins! We are staying tomorrow, Monday, and I think we are leaving Tuesday. I am Really Excited! :)

~ Saturday, July 12, 2008 - Our Trip to Chicago!!! :)

Hello Everyone! I am now ready to type about our trip to Chicago!! I am sorry for the wait.

We had a Wonderful Time, and it was Alot of fun! We left our house at about 8:00 am. on Sunday June 22nd, and ran some errands too. We then headed out to Chicago! We passed chicago and got to our hotel at about 5:00 in the evening. Our hotel we stayed at was called The Westin, and it was a 4 star hotel. It was also right next to an airport, so there were many business people there. Well, we had a really funny experience with our hotel room, but it was not funny at all then. When we got in our room (which was pretty nice.) my mom opened the little refrigerator door that had food, drinks, and candy in it that cost Alot! My mom, sister, and I were just being curious looking inside and picking up things. Then I found the paper with all the ridculous prices of the things, just to see how ridculous they were! (6.00 for just a can of M&Ms!) We were just being funny, but then my mom was reading the paper over and it said something like this "Please choose your refreshments wisey, inside it is sensored and you will be billed for whatever you touch." We all just froze then. We had touched over 60 dollars or more! My dad went down to the check-in counter and asked if we had to pay, and she said that she didn't see that we did. We were relieved! It is funny now when we think about it, but it was Not then!

After that happened we went and looked for a place to eat for dinner and we found a pizza place really close to our hotel. It was called Giordano's and it was best known for it's stuffed pizza! We ordered a stuffed pizza and it was SO good! :) It was also a really neat place. :) After we ate we went back to our hotel and got ready for bed. I was so excited about the next day because we were going to American Girl Place! :)

The next morning we got up, got ready and headed to American Girl Place! We got there at about maybe 10:00 or 11:00. It wasn't  crowded at all in the morning which was Great! We looked around and bought some things and it was SO much fun! We left at about 1:30 or 2:00 because the Kit movie started at 2:30. (The times are Chicago time which is confusing to me) We ate something for lunch and then tried to find the AMC theater which was hard to find. When we got there we got some popcorn and headed in the theater! We got 4 Kit Kittredge:An American Girl t-shirts with our purchase which was Really cool! :) The Movie was GREAT! You should see it if you can! :)

After the movie we went back to American Girl place for dinner in the cafe! It was Really good! :)

We looked around a bit more after dinner and then went back to our hotel. I had such a Great time!

The next day, June 24th, was my dad's birthday!! For his birthday we traveled down to Indiana, to
Amish Acres! It was a Really neat place! It was a place to learn about the Amish and also to have fun! They had many shops and cute buildings like the Soda Fountain and Fudgery shop and the Meat and Cheese shop. I liked it a lot! We went on a type of carriage ride through all of Amish acreas and also took a tour of an old Amish house and barn. We watched a documentary film on the Amish too. :) We all had a Great time and my Dad had a Wonderful Birthday! :) That same day we traveled home and got home really late, but I was Really glad to be home! :)

Here are pictures of Amish Acres and a few other pictures of our trip too, but if you want to see pictures of American Girl Place CLICK HERE to go to my *NEW* American Girl Website! It is Really neat so please Check it out and leave a comment too! :)

Chicago!!! :)

The Giordano's Sign.

My Cup, but it shows the Giordano's sign better. :)

Their Famous Stuffed Pizza! (We got the Veggie one.)

Yum!!!

A Really neat water tower and you can see our hotel in the background too. :) (The Water tower is a rose because the city was called Rosemont.)

Lake Michigan. :)

 The Amish Acres sign and the round building is their theater where they do broadway shows.

Here is the Carriage that we went on.

The buildings and shops were in a circle, here are a few of them.

Here is the Soda Fountain and Fudgery. (Their fudge is so good!)

The Meat and Cheese Market.

Kuhns Cider & Grist Mill.

The Chancy Thomas Blacksmith

They also had a Replica of an old German one-room schoolhouse. It was Really interesting to hear that the Amish only went to 8th grade, so 8th grade you would graduate. I would be graduated!

Here is their schoolbus.

Here is the playground.

Me and Hope enjoying the See-saw.

Here is the Real Amish house we toured.

Here is a sign about the house above and the farm. It says:

Amish pioneer Christian Stahly purchased this 80 acre farm for his son Moses in 1873. The year before this village of Nappanee was established on the new northern route of the B&O Railroad. Three generations of related Amish families have lived here. The Search for Religious freedoms and economic opportunity brought the Amish to Northern Indiana and from Pennsylvania and Ohio. Their simple lifestyle and Swiss-German orgin are reflected in the house,the Sweitzer Barn, and other buildings of the farm.

This is where they would dry their meat and fruit.

The outside oven

Here inside the house, is the kitchen. On the left is a Apple peeler and some other type of peeler.

A spinning wheel. :)

Part of a laundry room.

Where there bread rises and also to keep the bugs out.

The stove in another room.

A pretty hutch.

A nice plate setting.

I think this is a kitchen too.

I think we all know what this is! Lets make some butter!

A cupboard full of spices and other things.

Up to the bedrooms. :)

I thought this was Pretty! :)

Another room.

Where they stored milk I think.

The blue house on the Right is what the house first looked like and the white is where they added on.

This little house we also toured. It was called the Grossdaadi haus, which the parents would live in after retirement. The big house would go to the youngest child and their family.

Here is a sign about the house.

A cute highchair and stove in the grossdaadi haus I think.

Another nice plate setting.

Where they would roll up their thread.

A sewing machine.

And A REAL Iron made of Iron.

Here is inside a barn.

Another picture of the barn with a neat swing!

A Really cool picture of Hope swinging on the swing.

Another part of the barn with a cute horse and cow.

Me on the horse.

I thought this was really cute!

The Windmill outside.

And a Beautiful last look of part of Amish Acres!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! :) Also, since it is Summer I haven't been able to post regularly, so I might not post for a while. I haven't been able to comment a lot of people back too, so I am sorry about that, I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. :)

I hope everyone has a Wonderful and Blessed Weekend!!! :)

~ Sunday, June 22, 2008 - On Vacation....:)

Hello Everyone!!! :)

I am going on another vacation!!! Actually, I am in the hotel right now! :) We are in...Chicago, Illinois! We got here today and we will be leaving sometime on Wednesday. I am SO excited!! Hope and I didn't know we were going to Chicago until Friday night, though we did know we were going on vacation somewhere. On Friday night my dad got a paper out and handed it to me to read, it had the American Girl (doll company) logo on it and I was so surprised I couldn't read it! So I handed it to my mom and she read it. It said that we purchased tickets and would be seeing the movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl on Monday June 23rd at 2:30 pm and we would have Dinner in the American Girl Cafe at 5:30 pm. We were SOOOO surprised!!! It is going to be SO fun!!! The Kit movie is one of the Premeires, it really opens nationwide on July 2nd, I think that is so cool! This was a Huge surprise! So, tomorrow we will be doing that and go Shopping at American Girl place too. :) On June 24th is my dad's birthday also! Happy Early Birthday Dad!!! :):):)

My mom said we might go see an Amish community too during our vacation. It is like a museum of how the Amish live. The people that used to live there don't live there any more so someone made it so people could come see it, and see how the Amish live. So I hope we can do that! :)

We have already had a lot of fun!  We tried Chicago style pizza today, which was Really good and different! :) We also had a funny experience with our hotel room, but I will tell you about that when I get back. :)

Well, I should go! Don't worry I will be taking a lot of pictures (and I have already taken some) so I will have a pretty big post about our vacation when we get back, so stay tuned! :) I hope everyone has a Wonderful and Blessed Week! :)

~ Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - The "Why Homeschoolblogger.com?" Challenge...:)

I recently saw on Narniagirl's blog that Miss Elizabeth from Walkinginhissteps is having a Challenge. It is called So Why Homeschoolblogger.com? To Learn more about the challenge please click on the icon above. :)

So here in my post I have answered Miss Elizabeth's questions about Why I started a blog, Why I wanted a blog, and what my goals are that I want to achieve through blogging. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So Why did I start a blog on homeschoolblogger? Well, it all started on the day, over breakfast at Bobevans, that my parents discussed with me about me being homeschooled. (I was in 6 weeks of 7th grade and had gone to public school since Kindergarden.) Since it was a Saturday, that monday my mom and dad pulled me out of Public School. :):):) During the weekend before I got pulled out of public school, since I knew I was going to be homeschooled I thought to myself: "hmmm...I wonder if any homeschooled girls have blogs?" Both my mom and dad had blogs so that is why the idea came to my mind.
So, I typed in a Yahoo search engine "Homeschool Girls that have blogs" and Homeschoolblogger.com came up and I clicked on it! I thought it was SO neat! On Wednesday September 26th, 2006 with my mom's help I started my blog and wrote my very first entry HERE. That is how I started my blog! It was Definitely a God thing! This would have Never happened without Him!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why did I want a blog? Well, since I was new with being homeschooled I wanted to make friends that I had something in common with. I also thought it would be Alot of fun! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 What are my goals to achieve with my blog? Well, Above All I want to honor God in all I write and do! I would like to encourage and bring christian homeschoolers closer to the Lord in some of my writings. I would also like to make more new blog friends and comment more. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And I wanted to do one more question that wasn't one of Miss Elizabeth's. How has Blogging changed my life? I have changed alot in my way of writing. In my first posts I wrote short little ones about what I had been doing, which I still do but my posts are way longer. :) I also went into a fun text coloring phase when I was new to blogging. lol I also sound alot more mature than I did when I started. :)

One other way blogging has changed my life is that I have such amazing blog friends! You all are such a blessing to me! I have made a lot of neat friendships and in a way blogging has made me not as shy in real life. :)

Blogging has really been a blessing from God and He has taught me many things through having a blog as well. :)

Here are my Stats as of today: (I did have more posts, some of my post were really drafts, so I deleted those.)

 Entries Written: 137

I hope everyone enjoyed reading about how I became a blogger! :) Thank you all for being such great friends! May you have a Wonderful and Blessed day! :)

~ Wednesday, June 11, 2008 - What I Have Been Doing During My Summer Break...:)

Hello Everyone! :)

 I am having a Really Great time on my Summer Break!!! :) My Dad put up our inflatable pool on Sunday!!! :) It is a pretty big pool, I would say at least 3 feet. It is ALOT of fun!!! We went in it on Monday and Today too! I got a little bit of Sunburn, but that is ok. (Though, it is not good for my skin.) So, that is what I have mostly been doing...Swimming in our pool! :) Here is a picture of our pool and Marigolds:

Here is our pool! :)

And while I was outside, I took a picture of our Marigolds! Aren't they pretty! :)

I hope you liked the pictures! :)

Also, on Tuesday Hope and I sorted some of our stuff that were in boxes in our garage.  There were many things that I don't play with at all and we are giving those to Goodwill. I also found many things that I forgot I had, and I did find things that I was happy to find. :) We are SO blessed! God has given us so many things and I take it for granted a lot. I am very thankful for the Many things He gives us! He gives us SO much that I can't thank Him enough! Not just the things we have, but for Everything, His Love, Being who He is, and The Biggest thing of All...His Son Jesus Christ dying on the Cross for us!!!! I could go on and on and on and on!! God is SO Amazing and Wonderful! :):):)

So, that is what we have been doing latly. Tomorrow I also have to go to the dentist for a teeth cleaning. My mom and dad are also going to ask my dentist about me getting braces. (My dentist is also a orthodontist.) So tomorrow we are going there at 11:00 AM and when we come home we might get in the pool again! :) My dad will be at home too, so that will be Really fun! :)

I Hope everyone has a Wonderful and Blessed Day and Weekend too! :) Also, Happy Early Father's Day! :)

~ Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - Went to See Prince Caspian and Also Another Surprise! :)

Hello Everyone! :) A Couple things have happened since I last posted! :)

One is that on Saturday May 17th I went and saw The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian! I thought it was Really good, though it had many scenes that were not in the book and they didn't put Alot of scenes that were in the book in the movie! I still Loved the movie because no one except yourself can make the movie like your imagination. :)

I think the one who wrote the script did a very good job! I think it would be very hard thing turning a book into a movie. I had a lot of fun seeing it and I can't wait until The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!!! :):):) (I Love Narnia!)

Another thing that happened is before we went and saw the movie we went to my Cat Macy's Veternarian. I didn't know why at first, but then when we parked my mom told Hope and I we were going ot see if they still had kittens up for adoption. (The Saturday before, we went and Macy got a check up,  and we saw that they had kittens up for adoption. Someone found a stray pregnant mom cat and she had the kittens so they are letting people adopt them.) They did stil have 2 kittens waiting for adoption!!! One was a tabby and the other was black with a couple white toes. :) We held them and they were SO cute! We all couldn't choose which one! When we finally chose which one we chose...The black one!! I was so excited! The veternarian nurses told us they  are going to call us when we can come and pick her up. (Since they needed to be 6 wks old. Which they are today.) They said either today or tomorrow, but it could really be any day. :) She is SO cute! Here are 2 pictures of her!

We are thinking of calling her Maggie. So we will have Macy and Maggie! :) I am really excited about having a kitten around the house! We have to keep her away from Macy for a few weeks or more, though. (It really depends on how my other cat Macy feels about her.)

Also,if you haven't entered my contest please do!!! It ends this Saturday! :)

I hope everyone has a Wonderful and Blessed Day! :)

 Ps~ I have 602 comments!!! Thank you everyone for your comments! :)

~ Friday, May 9, 2008 - Our Vacation to Missouri Part 1 :)

Hey everyone! I am back!!! We got back Wednesday morning at 2:00. We had SO much fun!!!! :) I am going to write what we did each day, but it will be Really long, so stay with me!!! (After you read this post look below for part 2 and 3.)

Okay here I go...

Friday~ We packed up the our rental Silver van (Which was SO cool!) and headed out at about 7:00 Pm or 8:00. We ran a couple errands, got money, and then went somewhere to eat. Then after all of those things we traveled for 3 hours and stayed in a hotel in Evansville, Indiana.

Saturday~ We got up, ate breakfast, took showers, ect. Then we went packed up the van again, checked out of the hotel, and headed out. We drove for about 3 hours and then we saw the Gateway Arch from a distance! We were There!!!! We drove through St. Louis and found a place to park at a parking garage. Then we walked through a Beautiful park to get to the Gateway arch musuem. The museum was underground right under the arch which was Neat!! We had to go through a metal detector and put all of our technological devices (including cameras.) in a bucket to go on a conveyor belt to go through another metal detector. (or something like that.) Anyway, they were Really strict, they should be though because it is a historical landmark. They even had Hope and I take off our belts. lol They had metal on them.

After we got searched and went through the metal detector we were in the main lobby of the museum. My dad bought tickets to go up into the Arch and see a little movie/video of how they made the Gateway Arch. While we were waiting for the time to go to the movie we went through a museum they had of the Gateway to the west. It talked about the Louisiana Purchase and of Lewis and Clark. It was Cool! :) Then after we went through the museum it was time for our video/movie. It was Really cool to see how they made the arch! They used Stainless steel metal to make the outer part of it, and to put all of the pieces together to form the arch the made the pieces into triangles. I know that sounds strange, but that is how they did it. They had to make and put each piece together seperatly and when it got to high they had to use machines elevators to make them go higher!!! The Gateway arch is 630 Feet high!!!

After we watched the Video/movie it was time to go up into the arch!!! :) We got a type of ticket to tell us what Tram Capsulewe got to go up in. We were 3 blue. :) We waited in line and then finally went up some stairs. We had to wait a little longer but they had some things to look at while we were waiting. :) Then they started calling tickets, and they finally called ours! :) We went down some steps and found the tram capsule that we were going in. They made us watch another little video of the Gateway arch before we got to go in the tram capsule. (Really it was because the Tram Capsule wasn't there yet, they were waiting for it to come down.) So, we watched the video and when it was over, it was time to go up to the arch!!!! ;)

We waited for the other people to get out, and then we went in! It was Really cool. It a little type of elevator with 5 seats and the whole thing was white with bright white lights! It looked like something you would see in a movie. :) We went up a whole 630 feet and we were there! :) We got out of our Tram Capsule and climbed some stairs. We were at the top!!! It was so cool! They had small windows that you could see out of. We were really high up! I had a lot of fun! After about 20 minutes or 30 we went back down the tram capsule. :) We left the musuem and went out to the park again! My dad, Hope, and I all took Really good pictures!!! :) We then went back to the van and traveled another 5 hours or so. (I know a lot of driving!) After those 5 hours we got to our motel and slept. :)

Sunday~ We got up and took showers, ect. We were going to eat out for a large breakfast  so we wouldn't have to eat lunch. (Because we were going to the Seed festival and we didn't  know what they would have.) So, we went to the van and began driving to find a restaurant. We soon found out that there are not many restaurants in Missouri. (Or in the part we were staying in.) We saw a couple fast food places but we wanted to find a sit-down type place. This might sound crazy but we traveled 2 hours just to find a sit-down restaurant!!! Unfortunatly, when we found that restaurant (Which was Applebee's) it was lunch time. So we had to eat lunch! After we ate we drove 2 hours back and went to the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Festival! It was really fun! They had a lot of music, a music contest, a costume contest, and lots of booths of seeds, plants, and hand-made crafts! :) I enjoyed it! :)

We left the festival at around 6:00 there time. (7:00 our time, 1 hour difference.) We then went out to eat dinner. We ate at a place called Lambert's and it is a very popular place! :) It is "The home of the throwed rolls" and we soon found out why! When you are eating a man shouts "Hot rolls!" and if you want a roll you raise your hand, and he throws you one! It was silly, but really fun too! :) They also have pass arounds. What pass arounds are, is people go around to tables and ask you if you want the thing they have, and they put some on your plate. You could also get more of what you ordered, though we didn't really do that because they give you A lot! :) It was A LOT of fun!!! :) They had a Gift shop too, so Hope and I got a roll stress ball! lol :)

After we ate we left and traveled about an hour and a half to get to our motel. (Before we got there we went to a Wal-mart close by our motel to get some breakfast food.)  When we got there we went into our room and slept. :)

I hope you have been enjoying reading about our trip! Look below for part 2 and 3!

~ Friday, May 9, 2008 - Our Vacation to Missouri Part 2! :)

Hello again everyone! :) So, Here is where I left off...

Monday~ We got up, took showers, ate the breakfast food we bought at Wal-mart, ect. We then went in the car and drove a little bit. We were going to Laura Ingalls Wilder's House where she wrote the Little House series. When we got there we went into the museum to buy our tickets to go into her house. We bought them, but we had to wait a little bit, so we looked through the museum. In the museum was items of Laura's and her family too. They had Pa's fiddle, Laura and Mary's school slates, quilts that Laura made, Laura's first sampler, pictures of the Ingalls family, One of Laura's dresses that she wore when she was older, Rose's things and soveiners she had from trips(Rose was Laura's daughter.), and so many other things! It was really interesting! :) You couldn't take pictures inside of the museum, but if you were allowed I would have taken Alot! :)

After a while they said that it was time for our tour through Laura and Almanzo's house! It was SO neat! It looked like a house I would want to live in! It was so cool, I can't really describe many things, but it was all really neat! They said it was how Laura left it, except all that they did was touch up the kitchen paint and wallpaper. Inside of the house it even had Laura's desk that she wrote many of the Little house books at! It was REALLY neat!!! If you ever come to Missouri go there! It is an experience you will never forget! :)

After we were done with our tour, we went to the gift shop and bought a few things. I bought 8 postcards because since you couldn't take pictures in Laura's house either, they had postcards of the rooms. So I bought many postcards. :) I also bought a Wagon Rag doll. :)

After we bought our things, we left and went to Laura's and Almanzo's other house that their daughter Rose hired a person to make for them. :) It was SO neat as well. They call it the Rock house. It was A lot more modern than Laura's other house. They said that it even had electricity! :) I thought it was so neat! :) I had so much fun seeing both houses of Laura's and Almanzo's! :)

Once we were done touring the Rock house we left and headed back to the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Festival! :) My dad listened to one of the Garden speakers there about raised garden beds, and Hope, my mom, and I listened to more music. :) It was fun! We left at around 6:00 there time again. When we left we traveled about 2 hours to the famous music city of Branson. We ate at a place there called Montana Mikes steakhouse. We didn't shop anywhere at Branson we really just drove through it. :) We may go to Branson some other time for vacation. :) Once we finished our dinner, we drove 2 hours back to our motel and slept. :)

Tuesday~ We got up, took showers, ate breakfast, ect. Then we packed up the van and my dad checked out of our motel. It was time to leave Missouri. Before we left though we went to a mans house that was the speaker my dad listened to the past day, about raised beds. We went to his house and looked at his garden. His garden and raised beds were Really cool! :) He even had a Green house too! We really want to make raised beds like his. :) After we looked at his beds my dad bought 7 bags of the same soil that this man uses from that man. Then we left. After we left we ate at Lambert's again for lunch! :) Then we headed for home! ;) It took about 9 hours to get home. We traveled A lot! Anyway, we headed for home. After a couple of hours we picked up Arby's for dinner. Then we traveled more and more. It finally got dark, and we were still driving. There were a lot of deer, they were horrible! We even had to pull over because 2 deer were close to us! They were actually right in front of the car next to us, and she accidently hit them. Though, the deer got up and were fine as I could see, the lady in the car next to us was okay too which was good! So that was pretty scary, but God kept us safe! :) We got home around 2:00 Wednesday morning! :) I am really happy to be home, though still tired! We have been resting this week and will start school again monday. :)

I hope you are enjoying reading about my trip! :) Look below for part 3 and Pictures!!! :)
