CAN YOU IMAGINE???

I was listening the lyrics of the song “I Can Only Imagine” today. WOW!  I’m sure my idea of heaven is not even close to what we will really see. Every time I hear that song it makes me long to be in the presence of my Father in Heaven. I wonder what I will do? Will I stand in His presence or to my knees will I fall? Will I be able to speak at all?  I can only imagine---- BUT really  I can’t even come close.

That day will be marvelous when I come face to face with my Savior!!!  Can you imagine????!

Here are the lyrics to “ I Can Only Imagine”

"I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side...
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see, when Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.

Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine, when that day comes, when I find myself standing in the Son!
I can only imagine, when all I will do, is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine!! Only imagine!!!
I can only imagine.

I can only imagine, when all I do is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine."

The joy of the Lord is my strength...

Did you know that God is a God of joy?  I haven't always seen Him this way.  But, He created the mountains outside my window with joy and He created me with joy.

I will soon be turning 40 and I have been thinking about what my spiritual goals are for the next 40 years of my life are. I want to be a woman of prayer, a woman who seeks after God, a woman of joy.  I want to be intentional with my walk with my God.

So, 40 here I come!!!!!

The Weekend List

Posted in family

There are things I need to get done this weekend because in just 2 weeks my sisters are coming to see me. I want to go through some things, clean, and get rid of a few things. I really do love having people come to visit. I love their visit of course, but I also love getting my house cleaned above and beyond the usual cleaning. You know--- some closets, pantry, laundry room etc. . The areas I've been putting off.
Here's what I've done so far this morning---  4 loads of laundry
                                                                                4 freezer meals
a general pick-up of the house
                                                                               30 minutes on my elliptical

S00000---- now it is time to go and tackle the basement. The basement has all of the kids toys. I would really like to go through toys and perhaps get rid of some!!

When I go through this cleaning thing, I am always so grateful for what we have. We have so much and many times it is so overwhelming. We are so blessed,  Father thank you for the many material things we have. Forgive me for being so ungrateful and at times wanting more and more "things". Help me to look around and find ways to bless others who may need something I have.

Our trip to Hawaii

My dh blessed me with a trip to Hawaii. We traveled to the island of Kaua'i with our good friends, Doug and Krista.  What a blast we had together! I had ideas in my mind of what we were going to see, but boy was I ever  surprised! What a beautiful, glorious place.

When we landed in Kaua'i we were greeted by roosters and chickens everywhere. We grabbed the camera to get pictures ---- if we only knew, the roosters and chickens were everywhere. The roosters would crow at anytime of the day, they didn't   care what time it was.

We were able to visit many beaches. What a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy the beauty that our God has created.  We were able to snorkel and swim in the huge ocean.  Snorkeling was a new activity for me. I loved being able to see the world under the water.  I was in awe most of the time to see the handiwork of our Creator. To think He just spoke and it was there.

One day we went on a Safari Expedition. What a fun and very tiring day we had. We first kayaked up stream for 2 miles and then hiked through the forest. I was thankful that there are no snakes on the island. We walked next to coffee plants, guava trees, and monkey-pod tress. We saw some beautiful  spider webs. I just loved looking at the web and thinking of how God created this  small creature(at least I was hoping the spider was small!) .

We then stopped for lunch and got ready for the second part of the trip. We hiked to a waterhole and used a rope swing to jump into the FREEZING  water!!!  It was well worth the cold water. We hiked up to Kipu Falls and enjoyed a beautiful waterfall. Our guys swung from a rope swing with a 25 foot drop. Krista and I decided to watch and take pictures. The last part of the day was at a zip line.  I was a little nervous ( really scared!!)  but knew I really wanted to do it. We had an 8 foot drop and went about 15 mph over water. It really was a lot of fun.  What a fun day!!!!!

We ate a lot of seafood  and enjoyed watching the whales from our lanai.  We were able to see a local man catch a hammer-head shark (just a baby) and Krista and I walked over to see it. I actually held the shark!!!!

The sunsets were  gorgeous!!!!!!!  It was like God got His paint brush out each night just for us.

I want to thank my dear husband for planning a much needed trip for me. What a great man I have. I love you sweetie.  After returning home I realized I needed this trip more than I ever knew. I needed to see the beauty of our God. I needed time alone with my Savior. I needed time alone with my man. And I needed to laugh. It has been along time since I have really laughed. Yeah,  I've laughed, but nothing like this for along time---- probably not since before mom died. Thank you Keith, Doug, and Krista for putting laughter in my life. And thank you Father allowing me to laugh again. There were times I didn't know if laughter would fill my heart again. But, Father you heal broken hearts and even though there will always be a hole in my heart for Mom and Lori, I can go on with joy. Thank you Father!

Rejoicing Party

We are having a party tonight. We are rejoicing in the news that we received today. Our dd's  pathologist report from the second doctor came back clear. After getting news that the first pathologist  saw some troubling areas, we really weren't sure what we were heading into.
So, tonight we are praising God for the great news!!  We will even have cake at our party!

Thank you Father for giving us your peace the last 2 weeks. Thank you for the many people who prayed for our family.  Thank you for not allowing melanoma to be present !!!!  We owe you all of the praise!!! Amen

Staples....

What a weird way to start my blog! Well our dd has staples in her head. Six to be exact! She had a mole removed on Tuesday. The mole had "a-typical" cells in it, so the dr. wanted to get it off. She is doing great. But here is the thing I need prayers for...  it was suppose to take a week for the pathologist to do the biopsy on the mole, but yesterday I got a call from the dr. . He wanted to let us know that the pathologist wanted to get a second opinion because he saw some troubling areas. So he was sending everything to Denver. They are looking for melanoma on our sweet girl. The good news is that the area around the mole came back clear.
Would you please pray that God would give us peace as we wait for a week. God knows what lies ahead and through this He will be glorified.  My prayer is that the dr. was being careful and just wanted to double check.  Just pray please that  it comes back negative.  Thank you.

Laundry...

Do you ever feel like your washing machine never stops??  Mine goes a lot! My dh will tease me and say that I am addicted to doing laundry. But, if I didn't stay on top of it---I can't even imagine how long it would take to get caught up!
When I think of laundry I always remind myself that some day the machine will stand quiet for days in a row, and that will mean our kids have left home. So for today I am going to enjoy that sound of swishing and rinsing!

Laundry also makes me think of my sin. Many times my life is like a pair of dirty, muddy socks that needs a good cleaning. After some soaking  in the Word and washing of my sins only can I be clean again. And just like laundry I need to go back to my Father time after time to be washed and forgiven of my sins. But because He shed His blood for me, can I be white as snow!

Happy New Years!

Posted in my study

After reflecting on 2006, although it was a hard year, I have seen how God's hand prints have been all over my life. Through all of my heart ache and pain God has given me grace to face each new day. He has let my heart heal  and given me much reason to rejoice in Him. I have seen how God brought fellow believers to walk with me during some very hard days. Although I still face living with fear, fear of losing someone else, God has been my rock and I will trust in Him.

I look forward to what God will do in my life in 2007.  I plan on studying different characteristics of God. I also want to reflect on the many things that God has done for me. And focus my eyes on the joy of the Lord.

I am also going to work on laughing more and playing more. My kids had a pretty serious mom this year.  I want to build some fun memories this year!

Merry Christmas

Posted in my study

Merry Christmas Friends. We have had a delightful day. I love to watch the anticipation on the kids faces. They are so excited!
So many times we think of Christmas  and what our Savior has given to us. The gift that He has given. I was reminded in church on Sunday that we should be thinking of what kind of gift I can be for my Savior. Yes, the gift of God's Son is important , but what kind of gift are we to our Savior?  He has done so much for us--what can we can we give to Him?
  Something to think about today!

The things we say....

Posted in family

Before I was a mom I would have never dreamed of saying some of the things that I  have said. Here are a few examples :
"  Please take that fork out of your ear."
                       "No standing on the table."
" Your underwear does not belong on your head!"
"Wait until we are done with school before getting the guns out."

After saying some of these things we just have to laugh at ourselves. You know a good laugh is good for the soul. There are many things I would have never dreamed of before becoming a mom to my 5 blessings, but isn't God good? ! I wouldn't change a thing.
Listen for some of the silly things you say to your kiddos today and laugh!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Posted in family

Our home is being transformed everyday into the Christmas spirit. The kids love this time of year. We unwrap a Christmas book everyday up to Christmas, we are making homemade ornaments right now, and we enjoy our Christmas music. I would like to see Christmas through the eyes of our kids. So many times I get caught up in the "to do list" that I am not enjoying this blessed time of the year. So I want to remember what it is like to be a kid again--- and enjoy Christmas!!!! The gift that our Father gave us is enough for me to celebrate!!!

Friendships

This morning my heart is hurt and sad.  A dear friend of mine has chosen to leave our church without saying good-bye. My family and I were gone last week to a family funeral and I came back to this. She has chosen to just leave and close the door of our friendship without saying anything.

Today my task is to confront her on this. My heart is heavy.

I have again lost someone close to me. But, this is by chose and this is just as hard.

A non-scheduled activity

Posted in school

I am a schedule type of person. I am trying to learn to jump out of my little box and just do things with the kids that I usually would not do during school.  I am a list checker with school and want to get everything on my list done. On the weekends I have no problem at all just flying by the seat of pants, but when it comes to school I have a hard time when I don't get things done.

Today---- I jumped out of that box . We dropped what we were doing and went to a park for lunch and just played. We looked for leaves and pinecones, played in the sand, did some reading, took some pictures and laughed together. It was so much fun. The kids loved it and so did mom! We will be doing more things like this again---SOON!

We were able to enjoy God's creation in a total different way today--- a picture in a book couldn't come near the real thing.

Get-Aways

Posted in family

We had such a delightful time with friends this past weekend. There were four couples with a total of 17 () kids that left on Friday to go to Breckenridge,CO. We stayed in a huge house. The kids were able to play outside --- they made forts and played on the zip line.

We stayed up  WAY too late every night, and the kids got up way too early every morning. So we came home tired. But it was so worth it. The fellowship we were able to have was so sweet . Every night the adults were able to spend time in prayer together. Prayer brings people together.

We are blessed to have so many dear friends. I really needed this get-away more than I realized.

A thankful heart

Posted in my study

I have so much to be thankful for. You take your health for granted until a simple test comes back with concern. My biopsy came back normal. And I praise God for not having me walk down that path of cancer. Thank you Lord.

There were many times during the week while we waited for the results that I just wanted so much to call my mom. Not having her made me call on my Heavenly Father even more than I would have. I am so blessed to be able to come to my Father.

James 1:2-3" Consider it all joy, my brethern, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance."

It's still raining!!!

Yesterday I found out that my yearly pap-smear test didn't come out very well. So tomorrow I go in for an endometrial biopsy. My prayer is , that of course this was a false positive. But, more important that through it all, that my Lord would be praised and that I would have joy through the hard times!!!

wisdom

Posted in my study

Proverbs 13:20 " He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."

Sometimes I feel bad that the kids aren't surronded by other kids, then I read a verse like this and am encouraged.  "Folly is bound in a child's heart" , our goal is to help our kids become wise. And most other children are not wise. And our children need to be in the companionship of wise people."Wisdom is the knowledge of what is true or right coupled with good judgement." It means making the same choice that God would make. Wise people are truth seekers.

One way for our children to become wise is to  surrond them with wise people. And the people we put in their life may not always be their peers. Our dd goes to a nursing home with a lady from our church and sews with another lady. Both ladies are wise and godly women. She has learned so much from them.

Don't get me wrong, our kids do play with other kids. And have fun with them. But, our goal is to surrond them with wise people.

Gettting Organized

Posted in school

I am in the middle of organizing our school room and getting it ready for school. I have been planning for this year for awhile now. I love to make schedules and organize the year--- but many times I don't follow through with my plans. So I am making a list of the must have subjects and the extra's. I love having extra fun things planned for the kids. We love to have fun around here!!!

My goal is not to get so caught up in my check off lists. And to make learning fun.

School starts on Monday! The kids have been asking for school for a couple of weeks now---- so here we go!!
