Does this count as School?

Apr. 18, 2006 - Riddle Me This

Is it really possible to homeschool and be clutter free? Am I chasing a pipe dream?

I'm trying to declutter and reorganize some things today and feeling like I'm mostly rearranging my stuff to different rooms. Some of it I'm hiding behind cupboard & armoire doors, but it's still there, and that just means more furniture ...

I want to live sparsely, but I am so bad at this decluttering ... especially with all the books and school stuff and craft stuff and ... STUFF!

Actually, I like stuff. Why do we have to declutter?

I'll come declutter for you! I'm very, very good at decluttering. I'm so good at it that I've decluttered a few things I later realized I really wanted to keep. This is not to say that there are no piles in my house. Right next to me is a pile of newspapers that all have articles about our recent tornado in them. Some have large articles, some small. But I can't toss those papers 'til I get the articles out, and I just don't have time. I have to blog! :)

Huh! Right now we are in the middle of packing stuff up from a couple rooms we are going to remodel. I'm ashamed to say that tho I have pretended to have power over clutter in the past, it is apparent that my power is temporary...it lasts just long enough to fool me into thinking we have no clutter problem.

Why is it that I declutter every single year...sometimes twice a year...and each time I have big loads for Goodwill and our trashcan looks like it's pregnant with quadruplets? How does this happen? It's sick, I tell you, sick.

So I have nothing to say. And if I try to say something in the future, assume that I am delusional or drunk. I don't drink, but assume it anyway.

Chelo - come on over! I could probably use the help! But i warn you, I'm a pain to work with, I'm a whiny kicky fighting the process the whole way sort of person.

Shurleen, that's what scares me! All my Cleanie friends (Why is it that my IRL friends are all cleanies? Born-Organized? Why WHY?!) get rid of boatloads every year. I am SURE that I accumulate at the same rate, if not faster, so ... I guess my house is just slowly filling up. Because I'm decluttering my house sort of like using a thimble to bail out a leaky ship. And this ship is sinkin' like the Edmund Fitzgerald. (I was going to say the Titanic, but decided on the EF because I'm from the Great Lakes State!!!!)

Why am I sitting her blogging instead of decluttering more?

LOL at your Edmund Fitzgerald joke!

Decluttering here too! Slowly! It is difficult when you have a needy baby.

Amen, secret friend J, LOL

I just did 10 minutes of work before just-fed baby decided he must scream for me. Big Helper I is outside playing. And Little Helper E is ... well, lets just say "helper" is a big misnomer LOL

I am trying SO hard to be ruthless with the clothes and ... I'm afraid to look at toys. LOL!

When are our fussy needy babies going to meet?!?!?!!?!!?

Think more along the lines of Mighty Rat, though, than Mighty Mouse. *laughter*

I can't help with the fussy, needy baby. Princess Moo is pretty good, but she has her fussy, needy moments too. But the decluttering... I love to declutter (especially other people's stuff). Depending on how old your li'l helpers are, they can help. Mine do.

Just let me know when to come. I'll happily drop our current fiasco of school to drive up. :D

You don't mind if I leave a rat or two for your littles, do you?
