Feb. 23, 2006 FREE OLYMPIC UNIT STUDY>>>>
In researching our current Olympic studies, I just found an excellent resource.....a free unit study for your Olympic studies. It was originally released to complement an earlier time, but can easily be adapted to your current studies.
Let me know if you've been able to use it. I plan to print it out now, and save it for the next Summer Olympics, as it may not be available later.

As always, I have "quickly" previewed this, but have not yet had the opportunity to use these materials.....preview the content for your own family and determine if it suits your needs or not.
Blessings,
Cheryl

Oct. 29, 2005 GREAT RESOURCES!!
I wanted to take the time to recommend two great resources.....one is to help your children with reading comprehension.....the other is a fantastic resource you can download and print for free with book recommendations, based on your child's reading level. Like any book list, we have not read them all, so preview all selections personally, but this is a wonderful resource to have in your homeschool!
The booklist can be viewed at:
http://www.classical-homeschooling.org/celoop/1000.htmlThis 1,000 Best Books List is provided by Christine Miller, homeschool author. She has a wealth of information on her website and also a blog site called: "A little perspective."The reading comprehension site is titled: http://www.bookadventure.com/ You can look up favorite book titles or search by a favorite author and then your child can take a brief quiz for the book they've just read, acquiring points as they go. The site will keep track of your children's points and quizzes with even prizes to motivate the most reluctant reader! Some of the prizes must be mailed away for and some can be downloaded and printed on the spot, to be redeemed at a store. For instance, one of the prizes is generally a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory bar.......print the coupon and redeem it at your nearest store! You do have to register, but it is free and you can even add your own rewards to inspire your readers, personally.Let me know if you try these two resources and find these "tips" helpful!! Enjoy!!!
