Empty Nest Syndrome

I think we're suffering from empty nest syndrome *grin* We're missing the baby Robins terribly! Robins will nest twice in a season sometimes using the same nest for both batches so we're crossing our fingers that Mama will return. Above was all that was left of the nest after the last fledgling had left but Mama Robin has returned because the dropping that was there has been covered with a some new straw. Perhaps a promising sign of her coming return? If not, we have been so fortunate to have been able to observe it once and will always remember it even if we never get the chance to follow along so closely again :)

What a wonderful blog!!! I am bookmarking for sure.
We had a great time yesterday when discovering a robin's nest in our Maple and watching a mama find worms to bring up to the babies!

I will show the children your wonderful pictures today.

Thanks for sharing your adventures in nature.

Awww. I see your bittersweetness in this. You're right, though, not many get to observe robins so closely. We never have. I'm so glad you documented and shared this with us. It was so fun to observe it through your pictures and story. :'D

I am following a nest of Robins on my blog, too! My nestlings are about a week or so away from leaving the nest. I will be sad to see them go. I also hope my Mama Robin reuses her nest for one last brood. Your blog is beautiful!
