10 Reasons I Love My Husband

Posted in Family

I borrowed this idea from another blog, but I forgot to copy the link.

10 reasons I love my husband

10)  He is smarter than me.  Really brilliant.  I couldn't be married to a dumb man; it would make me crazy.  I believe he could do anything he wanted to.

9)  He has a beautiful voice.  He was Jesus in the Easter play, and his song brought tears to my eyes.  He is also a good actor.

8)  He is sexy.  I don't want to say too much on the 'net, so I will quote my grandma and say "He rings my chimes."

7)  He is a fantastic preacher.  He doesn't get to preach as often as I would like, since he is the associate pastor, but I love to hear him preach.  He is the best preacher I have ever heard, even better than the one I had in college, who was previously my "standard."

6)  He is not afraid of anything.  And I don't just mean bugs and snakes and stuff like that, but I mean he has an amazing ability to face unpleasant situations head-on.  Meanwhile I am cowering in the corner LOL.  This ability is a valuable asset as a minister, and I am so proud of him for it.

5)  He helps people all the time.  Homeless drunks, mothers-in-law, anybody.  He has a kind and giving heart, and he impresses me.

4)  He invented the Blanket game.  The kids lay down on the floor under a blanket and he "cleans them up."  Over and over again LOL.  He says "Whoo put this blanket on the floor?"  and then it keeps reappearing. ( He even still does it with my 11 year old who weighs 75+ lbs.  )

3.  He is a phenomenal father.  The kids adore him, and he is really good with them.

2.  I love him because I made a promise to him and to God that I would.  In this day and age, when people vow to love each other until divorce do us part, it is important to realize that I made a vow to love and cherish him, even when I don't feel like it.  It has nothing to do with feelings, it is a sheer act of the will.  Not that I don't still get those feelings, but I am in this for the long haul, and I am committed to him no matter what.

1.  He is my partner and my best friend.  We share so much history, it is hard to imagine life before him or life without him.  No one else "gets" me like he does.  No one else saw me blanch when they said my newborn might have a heart disease.  No one else was there when we had to start our car by pushing it down a hill-- for months and months.  He was the one who killed the snake under my baby's crib in the new house in NC.  He was the one who got me bus tickets to GA when my grandaddy died.  He was the one who had the faith to pray that God would bring us back to Georgia so I could be near my mom.  I never thought to ask God for that; I was hoping for somewhere close like Eufaula.  He stood up to the deacons who tried to run him off, when he knew God was calling him to stay.  We have been hired and fired together and been through  the fire together.  I can't imagine a life without him, and I am so happy to be his wife.
