My twenty cents keeps moving!

I'm allergic to food. Every time I eat it breaks out into fat. ~Jennifer Greene Duncan

I lost almost 30 pounds at the beginning of the year but I have stalled since then.  I need to find my motivation.  It is a spiritual battle for me, and right now I am losing.  The battle, not the weight.

We tried the mentos/diet coke experiment.  It was awesome.  We also made some crystals from borax and also some from baking soda.

Today we are starting our unit on Georgia history.  This is my first unit study and I am not exactly sure how to do it, but I am going to fake it  LOL.  I just wish I had step by step instructions.  I have some neat hands-on ideas from a book but I don't have soemthing that says "how to teach the history of georgia" LOL.  So I am winging it.   They will learn more from the activities than the actually teaching anyway, my experience has taught me.  It is beautiful out, so I think we are going to take a picnic lunch down to the river and start it there.

Right now they are making spider webs with glitter glue and black paper for Charlotte's Web.  Really cool.  Luckily I cleaned out my craft drawers yesterday and found the glitter glue.  Otherwise we would be stuck with crayons and paper ;)

I constantly feel like I am losing the self-discipline thing when it comes to eating. I think my biggest problem is in facing the fact that my body is changing and so I can't eat like I used to!!

You will love unit studies! How fun!

Since you are in GA, will you be going to the Southeast Homeschool Expo this year? I'd love to meet you!
