Homeschool Field Day
|
We
went to our first homeschool field day today. They also had a
curriculum sale :) The field day itself was a little
disorganized, but we all had a good time. The kids went swimming
after lunch and the water was freezing (like I said it would be) but
they love to swim so much. I found a few goodies at the curriculum sale; nothing vital, just supplemental stuff. But it was fun looking at everyone's stuff. My husband and my oldest son have gone camping with the Boy Scouts tonight, so I am home alone with the 3 girls. We went to see Over the Hedge tonight, but I fell asleep LOL. Oh well, they enjoyed it :) Tomorrow the 2 little ones have a gymanstics recital and the oldest 2 have a Clavinova festival. At the same time of course ;) So we will divide and conquer. I was reading other blogs, and I learned a new word: "strewing." That is what I do with books, especially with my oldest. I can just hand books to my 7 year old and she devours them, but the 11 year old has to be finessed. So I just buy them and leave them around. I might casually mention: "I bought Eragon on ebay, its about dragons and looks cool." and then he will read it. Whereas if I say "Read Eragon" he bristles. I am the same way, so I can't blame him. He has almost finished Eragon, and I hope he notices the growing Redwall collection on the bookshelf next. I am almost through with the first one. |
