Family night

Tonight was family night at Boy Scout Camp.  We took a covered dish meal and had supper with them (in an air conditioned building, thank goodness, not in the open pavilion by their campsite.)  Spenser is doing great, he seemed really happy and healthy.  His nose was a little sunburned, but I reminded him to use his sunscreen.  He said as I was leaving that he had a heat rash on his hind parts, so I took him to the nurse and she gave him some Gold Bond cream.  Poor baby.  I told him to apply liberally tonight after he showers.  He was proud to tell me that he showered last night (LOL)

He qualified for his archery badge, and he has quartered 2 of his 5 rifle requirements.  He "dimed" one of them, so that is something special.  (You get 5 shots in a space that can be covered by a dime)

Their troop has scored 100% each day on their site inspection, so the scout master assured us that their rooms should be clean every day when they come home.

They were headed to Vespers service as we left, so I look forward to hearing what that was like.

I will pick him and Luke up Saturday morning at 10 am.  Luke is obsessed with keeping the mouse that a couple of the boys found in their tent, so we'll see if his parents can talk him out of it.
