First Day of School

We had a great first day of school.  Spenser and Reed did literature while I did MFW with Sydney Macy and Haley.  Reed was finished before the rest of us, so I had a moment of panic as my perfectly scripted day threatened to crumble.  But I just found her some math games online and let her do that while she waited for me.  I gave the littles a break and did spelling with her and then everyone did math (or a reasonable facsimile LOL).   She did writing strands while Spenser did Bible, and the girls played.  Jason came home and we had sloppy joes for lunch (with the Adam Sandler lunch lady song playing through my mind).  Haley left at 1 and we did Mystery of History.  We were finished by 1:30, and everyone seemed pleased wih our first day.  I told Sydney and Macy that they had to lay down for a few minutes (they do it in ps kindergarten and pre-k too I promise) and so they rested but did not sleep.  (I rested too LOL)

Macy said "I am in Pre-k, Sydney is in Kindergarten, Spenser is in 6th grade, and Reed is in Thursday (3rd grade)" LOL!

It is wonderful to have such a good start with the added children in your school too! I love the mispronounciations of kids! It is so funny to hear what they say! Mary is stuck on saying lellow for yellow and the older girls get hysterical when I try to correct her! Being a former English teacher I can't help but correct her even if I think it is cute! :)

I need your prayers! I am stuck on a plateau! I haven't lost anymore and I am getting discouraged at the low carb restrictions! I am going to try to walk on the treadmill again now that my foot is better (periodic inflammation). I hope to have a good report by the end of the week! Thanks for thinking about me and I am praying for you too! In Him, Eva
