Works for Me Wednesday

Posted in WFMW

This is my first WFMW post, but I enjoy reading everyone else's so I thought I would try it.  Check out all the great tips here.

This is for those of you with multiple (at least 2) small children.  My husband came up with it years ago when my son was little, but it is brilliant.  When you get your child out of the van but are unable to stay right with him (i.e. you have more children to help out or whatever) what do you do?

He started telling my son to touch the van.  So simple and yet it works.  As long as my son was touching the van, he was not in the road.

DISCLAIMER:  Obviously this only works with compliant children without impulse-control problems.  Don't try  this with your rebel.

DISCLAIMER:  Wash your van LOL or you get black junk all over their nice pretty clothes.

Yes, this is a great technique. We used it for the van, the stroller, the shopping cart, you get the idea. I remember walking to the store with a baby in my pouch, an older baby in the stroller and the 3 and 4 year old hanging on to either side of it.

I have 3 small kids and 1 on the way and I use this all of the time. We call it "hands on the van!"

So glad you join the WFMW crowd. Great idea. We use this one too. Your children are precious - I love the picture of them all together!

When loading the girls usually I like to stay on one side of the vehicle. So whoever is farthest away must go in first. The other two wait their turn. They kept wanting to wander around too, so I insisted that they hold my leg. That way, when I am buckling the others I can "feel" if they let go! It is easier now, becuase the two oldest buckle themselves. Actually Mary can buckle her 5point harness too, but it is slow and Mommy doesn't always want to wait!

I enjoyed catching up with you! Especially the pop tart story! I used to do the same thing too! Unfortunately our Sam's is an hour away. So now we go for the fastest homemade version I know which is cinnamon toast (four pats of butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, pop in toaster oven). That is what my girls eat nearly every Sunday! I can resist this easier than pop tarts anyway! My dh doesn't eat breakfast on Sundays and so we can get away with this very minimal breakfast. Every other week day it is eggs, bacon, biscuits, etc! ( or cereal if Daddy leaves before breakfast!) Like today!
I also really enjoyed the description of the Consuming Fire! At least you were able to hear part of the message even if you were somewhat distracted!
Are you still low carbing? I am down another pound. Slowly but surely, praise the Lord! Have a wonderful weekend! In Him, Eva
