Am I a Pharisee?

We had a full day, but it was nice.  Reed had soccer practice this morning; Spenser was at a scout campout.  We all got our hair cut this afternoon (except Spenser).  Sydney said the funniest thing-- we were late for our haircut appointment, and she said "I bet Miss Louise is looking around saying, 'I don't see any Cardwells.'"  That girl cracks me up.
After haircuts, we met some friends at their neighborhood pool.  (Their oldest boys were also with the scouts, so it was 3 moms each with 8 year old daughters and 5 or almost 5 year olds plus my Macy thrown in for fun.)  One of the moms I know very well, and one I have just met.  It was nice having some grown-up time, although I did feel spanked at one point.  I made the mistake of mentioning that my son had read The Book Which Shall Not Be Named.  (I usually have enough sense not to say this around homeschool moms or at least hs moms that I don't know very well.)   She said,  "We don't do H---- P-----."
It didn't matter that I made a very thoughtful and informed decision to let my son read TBWSNBN.

Don't get me wrong, she is a very nice person and we have alot in common.  But I felt really small when she said that.  And I wondered how many times I have done the same thing.
It reminded me of what Jeana has been saying. (way better than I could say it.)   I decide what is best for me and my family and then I assume that I know what is best for everyone else.

Anyway,  enough about that.  After swimming, we rushed home to change and went to Jason's play.  We missed the very beginning, but it was still fun.
